Kenny Johnson shared thisLast year, I tried using GPT to help with my fantasy football auction draft. It was… not ready. 😂 After it suggested Joe Mixon for $45, I knew I had to bail back to fantasy pro’s. I gave it a few more chances after some stern prompt guidance and It stillsuggested players who weren’t in the league, missed rookies entirely, and generally struggled to keep up with what was happening in the draft. Not really what I wanted to babysit when players are getting bid in minute by minute. This year, I built Hammer. Hammer pulls in your league’s history, looks at what players have gone for in past drafts, tracks everyone’s rosters, adjusts for inflation and remaining budgets, and recommends who to target in real time. I’ve always felt like draft assistant apps have been missing a way to look at past manager history, which is especially helpful if you’ve played for 5+ years together. I finally used it in a serious draft, and the results were fun but bad. 😅 Hammer ended up building a team that it ranked 13th out of 14 teams in its own post-draft power rankings. Which was pretty hilarious, we’re not quite to AGI yet. It even hit me with a classic “you’re right to push back” response. 😂😂 The main problem was a fast inflated run on running backs, which my league does every week year. Prices shot up, Hammer didn’t adjust quickly enough, and I ended up laying a big premium on Kyren Williams, which isn’t ideal…. I’m working on this before the next draft. Even with the rough result, it’s dramatically better than what I tried a year ago. It recommended legitimate players and the values weren’t that far off what I was thinking as a fantasy football veteran. I’m perpetually 3rd-6th, so figured a new approach was worth it, even if I felt a bit skeptical. The part I’m most excited about next is getting more tactical with league history. Hammer already uses previous auction prices, but I think there’s a real opportunity to learn how individual opponents bid, factor in nomination order, identify who still needs what, and nominate players specifically to drain other teams’ budgets. None of this would’ve been possible without Sleeper enabling developers. Its open API made it incredibly easy to pull in league settings, rosters, drafts, and historical data. More platforms should make it this easy for people to build on top of them!! The other challenge is access to decent auction rankings. Most companies pay wall this, which is fair. I’m still working on how to best handle this. I have another draft coming up, so Hammer will get another shot soon. Hopefully better than 13th against the own dang finish line it picked. We’ve added to our hardware-bound key support for infrastructure MFA settings: choose from PIV or FIDO2 for flexibility. What changes for your environment: - Phishing-resistant SSH: Require FIDO2, PIV, or a combination of both when accessing a secured SSH server. - Isolated SSH identities: FIDO2 keys registered for infrastructure are separate from browser-based WebAuthn keys, keeping access boundaries clean. - Self-service enrollment: Users generate and bind their SSH identity directly through the App Launcher without needing manual admin provisioning. If you’re enforcing Zero Trust across production infrastructure, you can enable this now in your MFA settings. Many major SaaS providers do not yet support OAuth Dynamic Client Registration (DCR), which makes connecting their MCP servers through a gateway like MCP Server Portals difficult or impossible. MCP Server Portals now support pre-registered OAuth clients. Admins can register an OAuth application with the upstream provider, then configure its client ID and secret in Cloudflare. Kenny Johnson shared thisI’ve always loved tycoon games. During paternity leave, I built a golf management sim that took me a few weeks to create. This past weekend, I wanted to give Fable a spin and try shipping a new tycoon. A couple of days later, I had Summit & Snow, a ski resort tycoon 😃 Start with a modest cascade resort (I learned to ski on Snoqualmie’s cascade concrete 😅) and work your way up to the vast Rockies or Swiss Alps. Best part is you don’t have to join Epic or Ikon, truly a skier’s fantasy land. What took me weeks last time took just a couple of days. One big time saver, something Opus honestly would’ve also done better with, was building a browser-based Vite app instead of trying to build the game in Godot and then port it to the browser. Everything is deployed on Cloudflare Workers, and that part of the process took about fifteen minutes. The new Cloudflare agent skills are awesome. A few things stood out: ⏱️ The government is accelerating its own timeline, months after Cloudflare and Google moved ours to 2029. There is now a 2030 deadline for post-quantum encryption and 2031 for post-quantum authentication across high impact federal systems. ⚛️These deadlines suggest that the government thinks there is a some probability that a cryptographically relevant quantum computer will exist by 2031. 👷The EO has requirements on federal contractor that will force vendors to ship PQC-capable products. This is very good. It means PQC features built for federal sales end up in the same products available to hospitals, banks, and small businesses. 📖 The EO focuses on NIST-standardized algorithms and software, not QKD or specialized hardware. Also good. Now we wait for OMB’s implementation guidance. Here’s what we’d like to see: ☑️ a clear definition of what "done" means (supporting PQC is not the same as disabling classical cryptography to prevent downgrade attacks) ☑️ support for crypto agility ☑️ going beyond “pure” CBOMs to address the impact of migrating a key or system to PQ And If you don’t work for the government, we think you should start PQ encrypting traffic that goes over public Internet traffic right now (if you're on Cloudflare, it's already PQ encrypted at no cost), and update procurement to require PQC from your vendors. It's a good idea to plan now for PQ authentication because its dependency chain is long. Blog linked below!

Kenny Johnson shared this🚢 We just shipped IdP federation for Cloudflare Access. The problem it solves is straightforward: organizations with multiple Cloudflare accounts had to configure the same identity provider (Okta, Entra ID, etc.) separately in every account. That meant duplicate configs, drift between accounts, finding an IDP admin, and manual cleanup whenever accounts changed. With IdP federation, you configure your IdP once in a source account and share it with the other accounts in your organization. Each recipient gets a read-only connection that routes authentication back to the source. Users sign in the way they always have -- no change on their end. What's really cool is that we built this feature in a way that doesn't require updating callback URL allowlists in your IDP for each child account. A few details that matter: When accounts join or leave your Cloudflare org, their IdP connections are provisioned and removed automatically. Recipient connections are immutable -- nobody can accidentally modify or delete them. Available via Dashboard, Terraform, and API. Kenny Johnson shared thisWe just shipped a big round of documentation updates for Cloudflare MCP Server Portals headed into this Memorial Day Weekend. 😎 Almost all of it came directly from people trying the product and telling us what was confusing, broken, or missing. Thank you to everyone who filed issues, sent us logs, asked questions on calls, or just told us "this doesn't make sense" -- internally and externally. Our SEs caught gaps we'd never have found on our own. The OpenCode team dogfooded the OAuth flow and found a redirect bug that was hitting real users. What landed/or is landing soon: - Troubleshooting guide with specific error states and fixes - Service token auth for machine-to-machine access (CI/CD, automated agents) - Tool policies, allowlists, and namespacing - DLP inspection and Gateway routing for MCP traffic - Terraform configuration guide - API reference with curl examples for portal and server CRUD - Architecture overview covering transport, sync behavior, and limits - Managed OAuth token format and session tuning A few more PRs are still pending review! Chris Squillace, CPA Hey! It depends heavily on the MCP and who is authoring it. It can often feel limited because companies or MCP authors are hesitant to hand every endpoint over to a model.
Some MCPs, including Cloudflare's, are a full expression of what the API can do plus even more some times! It just really depends on what's been built into an MCP or not.

Kid’s just getting started.Kenny Johnson liked thisI’m thrilled to announce that I accepted a role with Texas A&M University Athletics as an Athletics Communications Student Assistant with the Women’s Soccer team at the beginning of August! In my first month, I’ve already gained hands-on experience in several areas of athletic communications. My responsibilities have included updating player bios and statistics, assisting with home matches and postgame press conferences, writing match previews and recaps, and using Adobe Photoshop and InDesign to create and update flip cards and other game-day materials. I’m excited about the opportunity to diversify my experience within the sports industry. After gaining experience in other areas of sports, this role will help me develop a new perspective on how communications, media relations, content creation, and game-day operations contribute to an athletic program's success. I’m incredibly grateful to Brandon Collins for giving me the opportunity to contribute to Texas A&M Athletics and work alongside the communications staff. Excited for everything ahead this season. His answer wasn't what I expected: be patient, and keep doing what's already working. In June, I was named CRO of Qvinci Software I won't pretend the jump from Sr. VP of Sales wasn't a stretch — new muscles, new lens, and a new job of aligning several business units around one shared vision instead of running my own team. It's a different kind of work. But I've felt very confident and clear-eyed about what I need to do. A lot of that comes down to the resources and community I've had through Pavilion — coaching, leadership guidance, and a network of people who've done this before and are generous about sharing how. A lot of new CROs describe stepping into the role as overwhelming — the job is a big step up from managing a functional department of the business, and it asks a lot. I haven't felt that, and I think Pavilion is a big part of why. I feel confident and eager about what needs to be done. So — thank you, Sam Jacobs, and the whole Pavilion community. Also thanks to Russell Mikowski for the individual coaching session earlier this year! If you're headed to the GTM conference in NYC this September, I'd love to say hello.

Mahmoud spent years working as an accountant. When he get laid off in 2024, he didn’t chase another desk job. He and his brother started building the coffee shop he'd always dreamed of. Small businesses like Mintish show what happens when you build your business with care and connection. The drinks and food are inspired by the Middle Eastern regions where Mahmoud grew up. (I can personally testify: they are delicious!) He teaches regulars new Arabic words and his menu is an education in the region. Customers love coming back to Mintish because, as one put it, “it feels like home.” Mintish is an incredible example of how our local businesses build community. Mahmoud hits his first anniversary soon. Stop by when you’re in Seattle.

A while ago, we set out to transform billing and turn it into a critical piece of infrastructure that supports the mission of helping build a better Internet. That required rebuilding almost every layer of Cloudflare’s financial infrastructure stack. The progress that we made has been remarkable, all because of the fantastic team. 2/ First, we started with rebuilding our data infrastructure. We built Town Lake, a storage engine and query layer over all Cloudflare’s data. This allowed us to efficiently store and retrieve terabytes of billing and payments data: https://lnkd.in/eQ4YrGp4 3/ We completely rebuilt usage billing, from ingestion, to aggregation, metering, rating, and reconciliation. This unlocked a much faster, scalable, and robust usage billing pipeline. It also enabled spend control mechanisms like budget alerts. 4/ On top of that, it enabled visibility into customers’ usage and spend with Billable Usage API and Dashboard: https://lnkd.in/e-b2i2DR 5/ Two years ago, every product had their own implementation of Checkout. We’ve fully rebuilt Checkout making it easier, modern, and more beautiful. It now supports cards, Stripe Link, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Instant Bank Payments, PayPal. 6/ Cloudflare Billing became an enabler for new products: we launched the monetization layers behind Cloudflare AI Gateway and Pay Per Crawl: https://lnkd.in/ezj6YXmv 7/ We’ve made payments more resilient: stronger 3D Secure and RBI support, more reliable payment authentication and tax calculation, smart and reliable retries and fallback payment methods, and better invoice reconciliation. We’ve also modernized subscription management and product access, and improved our developer velocity, observability and reliability of the core platform, leading to fewer errors and better user experience. 8/ There is still much to build, but I’m so proud of what the team accomplished and grateful to everyone who made it possible. Can’t wait to see all the amazing work the team continues to deliver.
