Matt Walter reposted thisWhen it comes to the holiday season (and beyond), speed and precision are key. 🗝️ That's why we're so excited about the new agentic experiences, Ads Advisor and Analytics Advisor. Analytics Advisor is an in-product conversational AI experience that provides immediate, easy-to-understand performance insights and visualizations that accelerate analysis. See how Samsonite used both tools to drive performance this season 👇Matt Walter reposted this🤖🎁 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻? Try Ads Advisor & Analytics Advisor like Emiko Barker, Senior Manager of Acquisition Marketing at Samsonite did. Here’s the step-by-step on how she used our new agentic experiences to help improve Samsonite’s performance this season. ✨ With 𝗔𝗱𝘀 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿, Emiko solidified Samsonite’s platform marketing ROAS targets, predicted future performance, and built her strategy. First, she got a baseline by asking Ads Advisor to pull up Samsonite’s ROAS from November 2024 and sorting by campaign type—an immediate time saving, helpful output. Then, she asked Ads Advisor how to adjust Samsonite’s Search ROAS targets to capture more sales in 2025. Ads Advisor provided key observations, a phased strategy, and budget considerations—all aligned to Samsonite’s business context. ✨ With 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿, Emiko was able to quickly cut through Samsonite’s large data sets to better understand their latest global launch—the Paralux Travel Collection. She used Analytics Advisor to look at the last 60 days of the launch across monetization, acquisitions, and landing page behaviors at a fraction of the time it would’ve taken her to do manually, all while maintaining accuracy. These tools didn’t just help Emiko manage the holiday rush—they helped her grow and feel more empowered to explore new areas of the business. Ads Advisor and Analytics Advisor will be available to all English accounts and properties in December → https://goo.gle/4ouYCnm

Matt Walter reposted thisMatt Walter reposted thisWe’ve just introduced trend change detection, a new type of insight that surfaces subtle but long-lasting and important changes in your data. It works like anomaly detection since they both detect a change in data. The main difference is that anomaly detection highlights sudden spikes or dips in data, while trend change detection highlights more subtle changes over a longer period of time → https://goo.gle/3OHlEZ6

Matt Walter liked thisMatt Walter liked thisAfter 10 incredible years, last week marked my final day at Clark Construction Group . Reflecting on the past decade, I am deeply grateful for the opportunities I had to grow, the amazing projects we helped bring to life, and, above all, the exceptional people I had the privilege to work alongside. To my teammates, mentors, partners, and friends at Clark: thank you. Your collaboration, support, and dedication made every challenge rewarding and every success meaningful. A special thank you to mentors and teammates like Kwaku Gyabaah, Brian Krause, and Megan Calhoun for your leadership, partnership, and guidance along the way. While it is bittersweet to close this chapter, I am excited for what lies ahead.

Matt Walter liked thisMatt Walter liked thisGratitude is a superpower. A little over a year ago, I felt healthier than I ever had. Active in basketball and jiu jitsu several times a week, lifting weights, running around with my two kids, finding balance at work, eating well. I didn't expect to get a stage 3 colorectal cancer diagnosis at 38 years old. No family history, no noticeable symptoms, no other risk factors. I started chemotherapy on my 39th birthday in July 2025. After 12 rounds of chemo and three surgeries, I had clear scans and blood work by May 2026. It looks like we won this round. The impact, as anyone can imagine, was profound. I was carried by the support of my communities, the strength of my wife and children, the incredible care of my medical teams, and a commitment to finding opportunity in suffering. One of those communities I want to name directly: the people I've worked alongside at Google. There are so many people to thank, more than I could list in any post: Alexandra B.t: Alexandra B., Krystle Moss, Garret Leahey, Juan Pablo Andrade, Avishai Cohen, Nithya Venkataraman, Luda Sokolov and Alex Godoy to name just a few. Support from this group and so many others along with the ability to take time to focus on my treatment was paramount to my success in fighting this cancer. This experience has given me so much. It's easier than you'd think to be grateful that it happened. I'm a better person because of it. Most of us don't know how we'd respond to this kind of challenge. What I've learned is that we get chances every day, small ones, to practice discipline, courage, wisdom, patience, and kindness. Tell me how you respond in those ordinary moments, and I'll tell you how you'll likely respond when the big ones arrive. I thought I was a grateful person before this. But watching people step up for you when you need them most, when you're forced to ask for help, gave me a level of confidence I hadn't felt before. That includes watching a professional community show up in ways I didn't expect from a workplace. Now begins the long road of recovery, armed with the wisdom that the road is the reward and the struggle is the never-ending opportunity for personal growth. As I turned 40 last month, I can see it much clearer: gratitude is a superpower and I got to see it up close in the people I've had the opportunity to work with over these last few years. Thank you 🙏

Matt Walter liked thisMatt Walter liked this9 years ago, my professional life changed forever. I took a massive leap of faith, leaving my pre-dental track to pursue a business major at the BYU Marriott School of Business. Just a few months later, I landed an internship as a Google Ads Specialist. That single pivot started a journey of professional growth that led me exactly to where I am today. I spent over 4 years inside Google as a Search Performance Specialist and Technical Product Expert. I had the privilege of helping over 1,200 businesses, from local shops to some of Google’s highest-profile clients, optimize their performance using proven, internal platform strategies. After building on that foundation over the last few years by architecting complex enterprise tech solutions, my journey has officially gone full circle. Last month, I took another leap of faith, stepping away from the corporate tech world to launch my digital marketing agency, Smart Ads Up, full-time. When local business owners learned about my internal background at Google, they asked for help with their search campaigns. I quickly noticed a frustrating pattern: they were paying agencies who offered zero transparency. These owners had no clear idea of their actual ROI, and worse, they didn't even own the ad accounts they were paying to build. Smart Ads Up was born from a sincere desire to fix this. Today, I use my internal Google experience and technical platform mastery to help businesses aggressively scale their lead generation and capture predictable revenue. If you or a business you know is struggling with unfocused campaigns, agency guesswork, or a lack of ROI visibility - let's talk. When you partner with us, your investment is built on a foundation of true expertise, absolute transparency, and 100% client ownership. This is just the beginning, and I can't wait to share what else we are working on behind the scenes! 🔗 www.smartadsup.com

Matt Walter liked thisMatt Walter liked thisI had the pleasure of testifying in Washington DC at the hearing central to this article. I was advocating for safer roads for all DC residents using facts and transparent data collected over a quarter billion miles of driverless operations. What I experienced was reflected in Roge Karma's excellent The Atlantic article. Autonomous technology isn't perfect; it never will be. But consider the alternative: Human driving is the #14 cause of death in the USA; the #2 leading cause of death of young people. We can do much better by embracing life-saving AV tech today. https://lnkd.in/gmiUYGvD. (Please support The Atlantic through a subscription! Matt Walter liked thisMatt Walter liked thisThrilled to be a Noogler again. I've joined the Applied AI team at Google Cloud to build enterprise agents. We're at a fascinating moment. The promise of AI agents is enormous, but how they'll deliver durable value for businesses and their customers is still being defined. That combination of opportunity and ambiguity is exactly where I want to be working, and I get to do it alongside an exceptional group of people. I'm also deeply grateful for my time at Reddit. Shaping the product during such a rare, high-growth chapter was incredible, and I'll really miss the sharp, generous colleagues I got to work with. A few weeks in, it's energizing to be back at a Google that feels a tad different from the one I left: moving fast, ambitious about what's possible, and with plenty still to figure out.

I worry AI is emboldening appraisers to continue to add unnecessary language to the reports. Now it's easier than ever! Meanwhile, clients are using AI to strip out the data they actually care about to avoid having to read the report. I've never met anyone who wants to read a 150 page appraisal report. Who is working on using AI to make appraisals less repetitive, more concise, and more reader-friendly?
