While you might be disappointed by the limited Pokedex of 230 Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Z-A's base game, there are some powerful Steel-type options to choose from in Lumiose City. Luckily, some of the best native Kalosian Pokemon, like Aegislash, made the cut to be included.
If you're trying to build a powerful endgame team by filling your boxes with some of the most powerful Pokemon in Legends: Z-A, then you can't miss out on Aegislash. Follow these steps to find a Honedge and evolve it into an Aegislash quickly after a quick trip to the Stone Emporium.
Where To Find Honedge And Duoblade
There are two major paths to getting an Aegislash in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, with an early and late-game option depending on where you are in the main story.
- Catch a Honedge in Wild Zone 4 at night.
- Catch a Honedge OR Duoblade in the Lysandre Cafe, once you unlock this area during Main Mission 35: Reaching Rank A.
Wild Zone 4 is available very early in your playthrough and is one of the creepiest Wild Zones in the game. To make things even more eerie, you'll need to head to this cemetery at night to encounter a Honedge.
The Lysandre Cafe is only available toward the end of your Z-A adventure, but it's an area worth farming for rare shinies like Beldum. While you're exploring the purple room on the north side of the map, you'll come across multiple Honedge or Duoblade spawns.
How To Evolve Duoblade Into Aegislash
If you're starting with a Honedge and doing things the old-fashioned way, you need to first power up your Honedge to level 35, which will allow you to evolve it into Duoblade. However, getting a Duoblade is just the first part of your task.
To evolve your Duoblade into Aegislash, you first need to acquire a Dusk Stone. The Stone Emporium on Vernal Avenue on the south side of Lumiose City is the easiest place to get a Dusk Stone quickly, as it can be purchased for 3,000 Pokedollars along with several other evolutionary stones.
Evolving your Duoblade into Aegislash in Pokemon Legends: Z-A is also the only way to teach it King Shield, Aegislash's signature move that allows it to switch back into Shield Forme after attacking.
