How to get Gunpowder in Windrose

Here's where to find Gunpowder and how to reliably craft it.

Gunpowder in Windrose is a resource you'll need for ammunition among other things, but getting your hands on it isn't the easiest of tasks. While you can find some Gunpowder across the map, there is actually a way of crafting as much of it as you may need, but it'll take a little bit of playing and resource farming to get there. To aid with that, below I explain how to get Gunpowder in Windrose.

How to get Gunpowder in Windrose

Gunpowder is easily gathered from Supply Caches (pictured below) found in enemy camps in Windrose, though you can also craft it using the Millstone.

Supply Caches will sparkle, much like chests, but they can be easier to miss as you do not need to pick them up to successfully clear out an enemy camp that's been marked on your map. With this in mind, be sure to scour camps from top to bottoms after you've cleared them of enemies if you wish to loot every resource – including plenty of Gunpowder – from these areas.

If you instead wish to craft Gunpowder, here's what you need to do step-by-step:

  1. Find Corn in the Foothills (usually located in Ancient Village POIs) to unlock the Millstone.

  2. Craft Millstone Parts at a Level 2 Workbench using 15 Stone.
  3. Build a Millstone (which is under the Crafting & Utilities tab of your Building Panel menu).

  4. Mine Sulfur in the Foothills using an Iron Pickaxe or better.
  5. Combine Ash and Sulfur at the Millstone to make Gunpowder.
