About Us

Eurogamer was founded in Brighton in September 1999 by Rupert and Nick Loman and has been covering video games ever since. The site began life with a PC focus and a keen interest in the competitive FPS scene of the time, but over the years it has grown to cover every aspect of gaming - PC, console, indie, board games and anything else that the team and the site's readers find interesting.

Alongside Eurogamer in 1999, its parent company Gamer Network was also launched, which now includes GamesIndustry.biz, Rock Paper Shotgun and VG247, along with regional versions of Eurogamer in Germany, Spain, Poland and Portugal. In 2018, Gamer Network was acquired by RELX and later sold to IGN Entertainment in 2024.

In 2008 Eurogamer also started the video game show EGX, launched as part of the London Games Festival, and subsequently the PC and indie show Rezzed in 2012. Today, both EGX and Rezzed are run independently from Eurogamer and Gamer Network.

Eurogamer has won numerous awards, including Best Game Website multiple times at the GMAs, Best Online Editorial Team at the Games Media Brit List, and most recently Media Brand of the Year at MCV/DEVELOP.

Kelsey's (she/they) passion for gaming lies with scoping out scares in horror games and admiring - or shouting about - the most grotesque of bosses in Soulslikes. When they're not commiserating the cancelation of Silent Hills or accidentally breaking controllers (they've gone through two while playing Nightreign), they can be found fawning over cute Pokemon, Kirby, or being very average at first-person shooters.
