This page contains the walkthrough for A Knight's Tales, a side quest in The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine.

Walkthrough

This quest can be picked up from the notice board at Castel Ravello Vineyard. First part of this quest is to talk to Jacob. Head a west of the Vineyard to meet Jacob who posted the notice. Jacob is waiting by a willow tree. What he proceeds to tell you matches the description from that of a fairy tale.

After talking to him, use your Witcher Senses to examine the tree and the blood that split from it, and then examine a nearby log that has been cut down.

Talk to Jacob again and after agreeing to help, head north-west to the witch's hut on top of the hill at Lynx Crag.

As you get close to the hill, you'll come across a panther that is non hostile. Jump and climb up the hill to make your way to the witch's hut.

After entering the hut, use your Witcher Senses to examine all the highlighted objects in red. The final object to examine is the animal skin hanging on the wall. After examining this, it reveals a wall of spell enchanted objects.

Examine them all, then Geralt is confronted by the witch who informs him of the what actually happened; that the knight came and stayed the night before setting off to return to his betrothed, but ended up dying.

If you examined all the objects in the room, at this point there are at least three options to choose from.

Option 1 - "Just lift the curse. Please?"

The witch agrees to advise how to lift the curse if Geralt agrees to give a her a lock of his hair, which she claims to use on a spell so that she will remain hidden from him from now on.

The witch tells you where the corpse of the knight is and how to lift the curse, it requires a fragment of his remains. Head to the kikimore infested cave below. You'll find the corpse atop one of the platforms in this cave.

After returning to Jacob, you perform the ritual together, lifting the curse and allowing the spirit to pass on.

Option 2 - "Can lift the curse myself"

Choosing this option will allow you to leave the hut without fighting the witch. But lifting the curse won't be as successful, as she is released, but the rage and pain turns releases her as a Wraith.

There is a catch we can still have a good ending with this choice. After talking to the witch if Geralt goes to the cave below and collects knight's bone.

Option 3 - "Lift the curse, or else"

This option will force you to fight the Witch, and her pet panther. After defeating her, she will agree to "help".

Return to Jacob but you'll find that he is missing. Use Witcher senses to examine the blood splatter and follow the tracks.

The tracks lead east, and you'll come across Jacob and his dog, Morholt.

As suspected the witch's "help" was not as expected. Kill the possessed Morholt to complete the quest. If you prefer to choose this option, don't forget your crowns by Jacob's corpse.
