David Anderson shared thisSecureGift (www.securegift.com) looks great InComm Payments - proudly built on Karta Gift Cards patented technology SafeToBuy. It's been great working with you Michael Georgiadis, Adam Brault, Michael Parlotto, Rob Hadden, Amber Blumm, Amy White, Chanda Wicker and so many more to bring this to life! Huge thanks to Peggy O'Leary, Mike Howard and the whole team at CPI Card Group to bring this technology to life with us. Video from The Business by Emilia Terzon on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) about the dangers of Gift Cards that have static data: https://lnkd.in/gAGUid3M

David Anderson shared thisGreat work by Emilia to help educate Australian consumers on product safety. Static data is unfit for payments... mag stripes were used to improve customer experiences and digitise payments over knuckle busters - it's time to let go of them and all the other static data elements that have carried over. If you are putting unencrypted static data on a payment product (QR codes are equally as bad!) then it is time to upgrade to chip technology. If you'd like to learn how you can move from static data to chip technology and forget about the lies that have been sold about secure packaging feel free to reach out to the team at Karta Gift Cards. You might even be surprised to find out that we can deliver solutions that are just as economical as what you currently have. https://lnkd.in/g4YjWfX9

David Anderson shared thisAlmost every payment card that is manufactured is posted out with static data (mag stripe) that is unencrypted and a chip with an EMV payment applet on it that is active - maybe contactless is inactive till the first transaction, but the contact plate is still active - the opportunity that this creates for fraud is huge! Imagine the trust and confidence that consumers would have in a card that has no static data on it (1960 wants its mag stripe back!) and a chip that uses its full potential (these things are about 16 times more powerful than the first computer that NASA sent to the Moon) BUT… it needs to be simple and easy to use - no app download required, tap and activate and start spending. SafeToSpend is built on patent-pending technology, much like our market-proven, patented technology, SafeToBuy - secured by AES128 & ECC256. Beyond a scheme-agnostic Tap to Activate solution, SafeToSpend also provides you with agentic native payment passkeys that automatically enrol when a card is activated - you can either add a biometric or use the card as a Tap to Auth. All from the browser on iOS or Android. If you’re an issuer or FI and want to provide your customers with a solution that removes friction and adds security, feel free to reach out. David Anderson shared thisA big thank you to FinTech Atlanta and Ania Lackey + Robert Skiba for hosting and organising the event. Great to be sharing how Karta Gift Cards have been solving for Gift Card fraud with Chris Green & Jeanette Garrett from CPI Card Group. Always great to spend time with Rob Hadden and learn from Berke Baydu, Scott Meyerhoff and Amy Barbieri.David Anderson shared thisA strong start to the year at FinTech Atlanta this morning with Gift Card Fraud Ahead of the World Cup ⚽🔐 - discussions around how fraud evolves around major global moments and how preparation starts well before the first kickoff. We opened up with remarks from Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr, who reminded us why Atlanta continues to lead - strong relationships, shared responsibility, and a willingness to work together across industries. From there, Hannah M. Palmquist led a thoughtful discussion with Adam Parks, CAMS and Chief Charles R. Hampton Jr on how agencies are preparing ahead of major events and why early reporting still matters most - if you see something, say something. The following industry panel, moderated by Amy Barbieri, picked up similar themes with Rob Hadden, Berke Baydu, David Anderson, and Scott Meyerhoff, accurately depicting fraud as a constant game of whack-a-mole - shifting from gift card abuse to “steal-and-store” tactics that target access and data, not just transactions. Thankful that we can bring together both law enforcement and industry perspectives to kick off the year - collaboration and shared intelligence remain one of our strongest defenses! 🤝 #FinTechAtlanta #FraudPrevention #PaymentsSecurity #Cybersecurity

David Anderson shared thisStatic data is unsafe at best... Time to move over magstripe!David Anderson shared this$1 Billion. That is the staggering loss retailers and consumers face in the gift card industry - every year. Most gift cards are vulnerable the moment they hit the retail rack. Why? Because sensitive data is printed directly on the back, visible to anyone. At Karta Gift Cards, we realised that to stop the fraud, we had to remove the target. With SafeToBuy, our patent-pending technology, sensitive data on the back of the card is removed and embedded directly into the gift card. 1. Blank Backs: No printed PINs for fraudsters to scrape or scan. 2. Tap-to-Activate: The card stays "dark" until a secure NFC tap is made. 3. Programmatic Security: It only becomes an asset once it's in the right hands. For retailers, this isn't just a security win. It’s an ROI engine that eradicates wastage while protecting your brand’s reputation. With the 2026 World Cup approaching, gift card demand - and fraud - will hit record highs. Is your gift card strategy ready for that level of scrutiny? Stop fraud at the source: 👉 https://lnkd.in/gxHEQM7W #GiftCardInnovation #RetailTech #SafeToBuy #Fintech2026 #Karta

David Anderson liked thisDavid Anderson liked thisI have been mapping the emerging agentic commerce stack. One thing is now clear: there won't be one stack. Google is furthest along on the merchant side: UCP launched at National Retail Federation in January with Shopify, Walmart, Target and 20+ endorsers, with AP2 handling authorization. OpenAI and Stripe built ACP, though OpenAI retired in-chat checkout in March and moved back to discovery: the protocol survived, but not the product. Coinbase and Cloudflare took x402 to the The Linux Foundation. Visa and Mastercard are building agent credentials, mandates and network-level trust. PayPal extended its merchant network into agentic checkout on top of ACP. Stripe, Visa and Mastercard appear in more than one of those lists. These are not competing products. They are layers. Now it's less about which payment rail wins, but about which control points stay valuable regardless of rail. Machine commerce is high-frequency and programmatic, across APIs, datasets, compute and other agents. Stablecoins and x402 fit part of that: programmable, global, always-on, viable at low ticket sizes. x402 daily settlement volume is down sharply this year, and a large share of remaining activity is test and gamified traffic. The standard is real. The commercial volume is not there yet. Yet traditional rails are not disappearing: Visa, Mastercard, Stripe and PayPal are all building hard for the same future. Multi-rail is the base case, not a transition state. Which brings me to the layer I find most interesting: the economic record. A card network sees its own rail. A PSP sees its own merchant flow. A stablecoin network sees settlement. None of them sees the full relationship: Who authorized the agent? What was it allowed to spend? What service was consumed, at what price? How much was actually used? Was the entitlement delivered? Which rail settled it? The obvious objection: Cloudflare already prices and meters at the edge and now funds agents with Wallets, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) shipped AgentCore Payments in May. Both are real. Both are also platform-scoped: they answer these questions for whatever runs on them. The cross-rail, cross-platform version of that record is a different asset, and it is the one that can eventually support attribution, reputation, disputes and spend optimization. That's where we see Nevermined: the commerce-logic layer between agent intent and settlement: pricing, metering, spending policy, entitlements, and a transaction record that holds across rails. Agentic commerce is one of the first genuinely machine-native markets, where AI, payments and blockchain infrastructure have to converge rather than coexist. Two things I'm watching from here: whether real, non-test x402 volume starts compounding, and whether anyone else tries to own the record layer.

David Anderson liked thisDavid Anderson liked thisNobody loves ATMs. Consumers don't talk about them. They don't think about them. But they certainly do use NAB machines – in fact, over 500,000 times every week! And they also just expect them to work. Today I visited one of our brand new NAB Smart ATMs, and was reminded that some of the best innovations are the ones customers barely notice. They're simply faster, easier and more intuitive, and they do just work – without breaking down when they receive a crumpled note, or a paperclip included with a cash deposit! We’re rolling out more than 700 Smart ATMs across the country - investing in technology that removes friction from everyday banking, and directly tackling the largest single source of branch customer complaints. Because great customer experience isn't always about adding more. Sometimes it's about making things simple, and effortless. A big well done to our teams bringing this to life: Paul Carter Tim Armstrong Mike McPhee Fran Amling Rick Stockman Sasha Samac Melanie Ziegenfusz Michael Bonadio Andrew Irvine

David Anderson liked thisSpoke with Emilia Terzon of ABC Australia about the criminal syndicates and money laundering methodology behind global gift card fraud. Brokers always tell me that clients who book have the highest conviction. Yet many brokers make it hard for clients to book appointments. ⚠️ Most mortgage brokers lose potential clients within 30 seconds of someone landing on their website. Here's what's happening: An Allied Health professional visits your site after hours, likes what they see. Due to the nature of their work these visitors would prefer to book an appointment but can only see your phone number as a way to contact. They get frustrated and click away to find a broker who they can contact in the way that works for them. As there are more than 1.5 million Australian's in a shift working industry, using an appointment booking system can help you get these clients. To get these clients, you need a call to action strategy that works for your clients, so be sure to: • Position your booking link prominently on every page to make it easy for clients to have an assisted journey when ready • Use clear call to action strategy that guides visitors naturally • Integrate booking seamlessly with your overall user-friendly websites approach, put another way, don't send them over to calendly to book, keep them on your site with the booking link embedded as long website sessions help your domain rep. A professional website upgrade focused on lead generation can transform how clients connect with you. Your improving website should turn visitors into booked appointments, not missed opportunities. Ready to fix your website and get appointment bookings? Click link in bio to discover how a better website can double your consultation bookings.
