Jennifer Macrae reposted thisJennifer Macrae reposted thisThis week at Mastercard Connections, we didn’t just talk about the next era of payments. We showed it - live. Commerce is becoming more complex. From students building businesses in their dorm rooms, to global companies experimenting with entirely new ways to deliver and monetize services, more of that activity is now happening automatically, across multiple platforms, and in real time. We’re ready to meet this moment. Building on Mastercard Agent Pay, we’re introducing Agent Pay for Machines: extending our approach to support a new class of transactions executed by AI agents and automated systems. A single request triggered a chain of transactions executed automatically, in the background, at machine speed. That’s the shift. We’re moving from discrete transactions to continuous, automated payment flows - designed to operate at scale. At the core is a trusted system that makes this possible: ✅ Verified agents and trusted participants ✅ Clear, programmatic permissions and spending controls ✅ Seamless transactions across platforms ✅ Reliable, multi-rail settlement across cards, accounts, and digital assets We’re building this with 30+ partners across payments, infrastructure, and digital assets - turning what was theoretical into something real. Because what comes next won’t just be faster payments. It will be a new breed of payments, built for a more dynamic, always-on economy.

Jennifer Macrae reposted thisSuper excited about this partnership with Getnet and Neivor, bringing real use cases of agentic commerce to Latin America, powered by Mastercard Agent Pay!Jennifer Macrae reposted thisFIRST IN LATIN AMERICA: a real AI agent payment is now a reality. 🤖 Getnet and Mastercard, together with Mexican startup Neivor, have completed the first real-world case in Mexico and Latin America of accepting and processing a payment initiated by an AI agent using Mastercard Agent Pay. Built on open standards and designed to be interoperable, secure and scalable, this new infrastructure enables AI agents to connect directly to Getnet’s global payments infrastructure through a single integration, incorporating identification and authentication mechanisms to enhance transaction security. As Juan Franco, CEO of Getnet, explains: "Agentic commerce is one of the most significant transformations taking place across the payments and digital commerce ecosystem. Getnet's goal is to provide the infrastructure that enables merchants, platforms and AI agents to operate securely, interoperably and at scale, making it easier to adopt new AI-powered shopping experiences.” At Getnet, we continue to advance our vision of a more open commerce model, where AI can be securely integrated throughout the payment journey. 🚀 The future of payments is agentic. And it's already happening. Read more: https://lnkd.in/ednKdVpc

Jennifer Macrae reposted thisJennifer Macrae reposted thisA huge night at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday. Proud to see Click to Pay right at the heart of the action, in front of a global audience. The perfect moment to showcase this fast and secure way to pay online - and the role it plays as we move towards 100% ecommerce tokenisation by 2030, phasing out manual card entry and making online payments as simple and safe as in-store. Couldn’t have asked for a better spotlight for Click to Pay.

Jennifer Macrae reacted on thisJennifer Macrae reacted on thisAfter more than eight extraordinary years as Mastercard’s Chief Privacy, AI & Data Responsibility Officer, I am thrilled to start a new chapter as Mastercard’s General Counsel for Core Payments & the Chief Administrative Office. Core Payments is at the heart of Mastercard's business, bringing together our foundational products and platforms with leading real-time payments capabilities to deliver secure, seamless and innovative payment solutions for people and businesses around the world. Today, we're at the dawn of two new payment paradigms that we believe will profoundly impact the entire digital economy over the next decade: agentic commerce and tokenized currencies (such as stablecoins and tokenized deposits), powered respectively by artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies. If you want to learn about the future of payments, please check here: https://lnkd.in/evJQspar As the pace of change around us accelerates, one thing remains constant: what we build for the future and how we lead is grounded in security, reliability, user privacy and the highest standards of trust. As I have highlighted in the past, at Mastercard, trust is not a feature, it is the foundation of all that we do. What excites me most about my new role is the opportunity to bring that perspective into Mastercard's core business and innovation agenda. As commerce continues to evolve and as technology keeps changing, trust is becoming non-negotiable. I am very happy to pass the baton to my colleagues and friends Randi Adelstein and Adam Zitter, who will jointly lead our AI, data, privacy and regulatory teams. They bring deep expertise, strong leadership and a shared commitment to helping Mastercard navigate an increasingly complex regulatory landscape while continuing to enable innovation responsibly. I am and will always be incredibly proud of the pioneering work we’ve advanced together: implementing Trust by Design throughout our innovation lifecycle, pioneering Privacy-Enhancing Technologies, leading the way with robust AI Governance, investing in people and talent, and participating in the global dialogue to help shape the future of responsible data & AI innovation. Thank you to my amazing Global Privacy, AI & Data Responsibility (PAIR) team! I’m excited to continue championing these priorities and partnering with the team in my new role. After all, as I'm forever reminding my teenage boys, getting out of your comfort zone is where the magic happens😉. My sincere thanks to Tiffany Hall, Jorn Lambert and Richard Verma for the trust they have placed in me as part of this new mandate: I am excited about the journey ahead! How Mastercard is building trust into the next payments paradigmHow Mastercard is building trust into the next payments paradigm

Jennifer Macrae reacted on thisJennifer Macrae reacted on thisOver the years, we've become used to unlocking our phones with a face or fingerprint and making a payment in seconds. Yet online, we're often still entering card details, passwords and one-time codes to complete a transaction. As part of Mastercard's New Zealand 2030 vision, we're focused on how payments will continue to evolve as new technologies emerge and consumer expectations shift. Increasingly, people expect online experiences to be as seamless and intuitive as those they have in-store. That's why innovations like Click to Pay are so important. By combining tokenised credentials with biometric authentication, it brings the convenience many of us already experience in-store into the online checkout experience. Here's a quick overview of how it works and what it could mean for Kiwi consumers 👇

Jennifer Macrae reacted on thisJennifer Macrae reacted on thisEighteen years, one company, and I’d do it again. Mastercard played a defining role in my career. I learned the business, built alongside incredible teams, worked on some of the industry’s biggest shifts, and developed relationships I know will stay with me for years to come. I had the opportunity to help build new businesses and capabilities as financial services evolved, from advancing digital payments and payment acceptance, to extending tokenization into new use cases, to building Open Finance within Mastercard Services. Seeing the business through very different lenses along the way, from healthcare to Investor Relations, shaped how I think about strategy and value creation more than any single role could have. But what I’ll take with me most is the people. I had the privilege of learning from, working alongside, mentoring and leading hundreds of people. Some of my proudest moments came from what we built together, and from watching people grow, take on bigger challenges, and go on to lead others themselves. A few played especially meaningful roles along the way. Sekai Ndemanga and I go back to Manhattanville University , senior theses, late nights, presenting our work together at a conference in Boston. She’s been a friend and mentor through every stage since, someone I could always turn to. Jen Vanderwall hired me into Mastercard and gave me one of my earliest examples of how to build an effective team and create new opportunities. Linda Kirkpatrick was the first person I connected with at the company, helped me launch the YoPros Employee Resource Group, and remained a constant source of support and perspective. Barbara Gasper gave me the opportunity to see the business through the lens of Investor Relations and shaped how I think about strategy, value creation and communicating what matters. As Barbara always says, “once in IR, always in IR.” And Jess Turner , who was my leader across several roles over many years, created an environment where we could challenge each other and shape the direction of the business together. I’m deeply grateful for the trust, support and partnership we built. To the many other teammates, leaders, customers, partners and friends from Massachusetts Institute of Technology who were part of these 18 years, the engineers who shipped the hard things, the partners who took a chance on new ideas, the customers who told us the truth: thank you. None of this was ever about one person or one team. It came from great people challenging each other, staying close to customers and solving hard problems together. That sense of building together is what I’ll miss most. I’m proud of what we built and grateful for what I learned. And as I step into what comes next, I carry all of it with me. I have no doubt our paths will cross again. Onward with gratitude.

Jennifer Macrae reacted on thisJennifer Macrae reacted on thisAfter nearly 9 years at Mastercard, I’m excited to share that I’ve started a new chapter at Ripple. Mastercard has been a huge part of my career and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunities and experiences I’ve had along the way. I’ve been fortunate to work with brilliant colleagues and leaders across different teams, and have built friendships that I’ll carry with me well beyond my time there. Having spent the last few years focused on digital assets, I’m excited to go even deeper into the space and join the Strategic Partnerships team at RippleX. I’m looking forward to working with the team and partners as we help shape the evolution of global financial infrastructure.

#MastercardEmployee #FebrabanTech2026

I'm always a little bit fascinated by the impact technology can have beyond what you would normally "expect". And here's a great example. Insights from the BT Business new ‘Future Unlocked’ report show that by upgrading workplace tech and connectivity, UK businesses could gain back a staggering nine days of productivity per employee by 2030! In an increasingly digital age, embracing modern technologies such as AI and the cloud, enabled by fast, secure and reliable connectivity, is key to enhancing productivity. The numbers speak for themselves: · 3 in 4 workers believe tech like AI will boost their productivity · 2 in 3 say it will help them find better work-life balance · 1 in 4 have quit or considered quitting due to tech frustrations. Investing in technology and connectivity isn’t just about efficiency – it’s about empowering people to work efficiently, boosting retention, and driving business growth The future is unlocked - are you ready? https://lnkd.in/eb6Bw2HQ

The UK Government’s ambition is to build a trusted, world-leading payments ecosystem where consumers and businesses benefit from choice, innovation, and resilience. Account-to-account (A2A) payments are core to delivering it, as they can offer a competitive alternative to cards and direct debits. Natwest engaged us to examine (i) the challenges encountered by stakeholders in coordinating a commercial approach to Account-to-Account (A2A) payments, (ii) how commercial incentives could be most effectively aligned, while (iii) ensuring merchants and consumers are protected from the exercise of market power in payments over the longer term. Our independent findings are that: ✔️ The focus on banks as bottleneck monopoly providers to each of their customer’s user data may not be an optimal response to the government’s National Payments Vision (it also predates it). ✔️ The current process to achieving commercial alignment relies heavily on stated preferences (rather than revealed preferences) to resolve coordination and hold-up challenges. ✔️ We propose an independent, profit driven scheme with greater commercial freedoms and agility than the current process allows for, alongside timely competitive access to mobile platforms by alternative mobile wallets. ✔️ Beyond a high-level statement around the objectives that such a scheme should seek to achieve (in line with the National Payments Vision), no further regulatory intervention in cVRP pricing should be necessary today. Only if (or when) the scheme becomes so successful that it acquires market power, should further intervention on pricing be considered. While this paper does not represent the position of Natwest or any other party, we hope that this is a valuable (independent) contribution to the current debate.
