'The Park Resonant' mission sees you venturing into the mold ridden district of Control Resonant. Here you'll have to track down and eat the mold to reach the boss for this area known as The Collective. Though, all that mold has left The Park rather hard to navigate… Good thing I've written this 'The Park Resonant' walkthrough to show you the way!

How to get to The Park in Control Resonant

Here I'll walk you through how to reach The Park in Control Resonant using the Field Office in Central as a starting location for the sake of simplicity:

  1. Head through the building to the left of the Field Office, just north of the panopticon, so that you're in the northern part of Central.
  2. From there, run north up the road in front of you until your way is blocked by a wall of mold.
  3. Look to your right and you'll see an opening in the wall. Time to go through it! You may need to defeat the nearby enemies to unblock this mold.
  4. The location of the entrance to The Park in Central circled on the Control Resonant map.

  5. You will need to defeat the mold enemies on the other side of the hole to continue forwards.
  6. With the mold defeated (for now) take the elevator up into the FBC building connecting The Park to Central.
  7. Go through this building until you're on the other side. You can stop off to have a quick chat with the ranger inside to learn more about The Park. There's also a collectible or two in this building.
  8. When you've left the building, go forwards until you can take a path on the left-hand side.
  9. It's a good idea to report the research balloon to Zoe when you see it.

  11. Climb atop the buildings to your left and use their roofs to reach the top of the opposite wall.
  12. I recommend dropping down to the roof to your right and unlocking the 'Park Valley' fast travel point before proceeding any further.

It's worth noting that, depending on your current Power Level and how far you are in Control Resonant, that there's a chance all of the mold monsters will have a Skull Power Level. This means that they're so high above your current Power Level that it will be hard for you to defeat them. If this is the chance for you, then consider taking the time to increase your Power Level through upgrades, Talent Points and Power Upgrade Points or completing some other missions first.

Even if you are at the right Power Level for this mission, I highly recommend completing 'The Central Resonant' mission first if you haven't done so already. The fire ability you unlock there is perfect for tackling the mold.

Control Resonant The Park Resonant walkthrough

Now you know how to reach The Park, it's time to tackle 'The Park Resonant' mission. Again, I do recommend completing 'The Central Resonant' mission first and selecting the Ignite ability. This ability will be incredibly helpful in defeating the mold, because it's weak to fire. (Feels like I should be making a Pokémon-styled Control Resonant type chart.) If you've already completed 'The Central Resonant', then you can always respec for Ignite.

With that out of the way, here's a quick rundown over of every main objective 'The Park Resonant' mission:

  1. Unlock map for The Park.
  2. Learn about the mold at the FBC Base in The Park.
  3. Search Park Valley for new mold stains.
  4. Eat the Minimart Mold.
  5. Eat the Pizzeria Mold.
  6. Eat the Gym Mold.
  7. Kill the Resonant behind the Mold Gate.

1. Unlock map for The Park.

Before you proceed with 'The Park Resonant' mission, it's an excellent idea to unlock the map for this area. Seriously, you're going to be running about a lot in this location and The Park can be quite hard to navigate at times. Thankfully, the Map Kits are located in the area directly in front of where you enter The Park from!

  1. The main Map Kit radar itself is located atop the building in front of the pit in the first section of The Park.

  5. Another radar is located on the building almost directly below from the building containing the main Map Kit. It's a good idea to head to this building and then drop directly down

  7. The final radar is located on the outskirts of the pit area, to the left of the parking garage.

Remember to return to the main Map Kit radar once you've visited the three smaller radars!

2. Learn about the mold at the FBC Base in The Park.

While the FBC Base is technically close to the Map Kits in The Park, getting there is a different matter. Try your best to avoid the pools of yellow mold or else a status effect will be inflicted upon you.

  1. Go into the parking garage found on the right-hand side of the pit in The Park. It's close to where you found one of the Map Kit radars (number four on the list above) and you'll have to fight some mold enemies to get through.
  2. With the mold dead, go through the doors near the elevators to reach the road outside.
  3. Entering the parking garage in The Park in Control Resonant.

  4. Head right and enter the sewers. If you can't see the sewer entrance, then you need to drop down into the hole at the right-hand end of the road you access by going through the parking garage.
  5. Take the tunnel leading forward once you're in the sewer. (You'll spot a handy FBC sign on the wall pointing you in the right direction once you head down it!)
  6. Defeat the mold monsters when you encounter them.
  7. With the mold defeated, take the right-hand tunnel out of this way. Again, there's an FBC sign marking the way.
  8. Jump over to the higher exit out of the sewers.

  10. Once you've left the sewers, it's a good idea to open the door directly in front of you to create a shortcut.
  11. With that done, head down the left-hand path. There will eventually be an office to your left where you'll find a scientist who can give you some background information about what's happening in The Park. You'll also find some collectibles in this office.
  12. When you're ready, use the platforms to reach the roof of this office building.
  13. Upon reaching the roof, head inside the small room atop it for some more collectibles, a terminal and a resource chest.
  14. Finally, head up to the higher section of the roof and talk to Underhill before picking up the 'Research Memo'' collectible on the table behind her.

Don't forget to unlock the 'FBC Base' fast travel point on this roof before you continue on with the rest of the mission.

3. Search Park Valley for new mold stains.

Before you return to Park Valley, I actually recommend heading back down the roof the way you came and then Shifting up the patterned road. Keep following this road, taking the first left, until you eventually reach a set of blue doors on your right-hand side. Opening these blue doors will create a short cut that will prevent some annoying backtracking! You'll also be on the outskirts of Park Valley, so not very far from the pit.

With that down, head to the pit in the centre of Park Valley. You know, the massive pit that the Map Kits were located around. Jump down to the bottom of this pit and report the 'Mold-blocked entrance' to Zoe.

Afterwards, climb up the mold wall to the left of the entrance and you'll find a very delicious looking piece of mold sitting on a table. (It's near the respawn point if you're having trouble finding it.) Report the delicious mold to Zoe before giving into the urges and eating it.

4. Eat the Minimart Mold.

It's now time to continue eating mold! What could go wrong? Nothing that is! The first piece of mold is located south-west of the Park Valley and the pit.

The quickest route is going through those blue doors I told you to open in the previous section - these will lead directly to the area containing the minimart. If you didn't open those doors, however, you need to head back to the FBC Base following the route I originally took you on. From there, go up the patterned wall and take the first left. You then need to continue following the road forward until you can no longer do so.

No matter which route you take, you will have to fight a collection of mold creatures once you arrive near the minmart. If you don't, then you won't be able to get inside! After you've sent them all to mold heaven, you'll find the entrance to the minimart on the edge of the yellow mold pool. Go inside and eat that mold!

5. Eat the Pizzeria Mold.

The Pizzeria Mold is located east of where you ate the Minimart Mold. The quickest way to reach it is to follow the road to the right of the minimart as if you're heading to the FBC Base. When you reach the road leading directly to the base, however, head south instead of north.

Now make sure you're on the lower level between the two patterned roads. Down here, directly opposite the road leading to the FBC Base, you'll find a yellow mold road to the Pizzeria. First, however, you need to defeat another collection of mold enemies. I recommend doing your best to bait the enemies either onto the roofs or the non-mold road sections to avoid accidentally getting a status effect.

When you're mold-enemy-free, it's time to visit the Pizzeria. The easiest way to reach it is to climb up atop the roofs on the right-hand side of the yellow mold. From there, you'll be able to easily jump down to the Pizzeria where you can eat some more mold.

6. Eat the Gym Mold.

The Gym Mold is by far the hardest mold to find thanks to the wide area you're given for its potential location on the map. (And trust me, it's not in the factory within this area.) Lucky for you, it's my job to guide you to the mold so you won't spend twenty minutes faffing about a factory.

The Gym Mold is located in the northern section of The Park, which is accessed by going through the parking garage. Take whichever route you prefer to get there - be it going back through the sewers or going through Park Valley. Just make sure you're on the road on the northern side of the parking garage.

From there you'll see a Power Core Station and, beyond that, an area filled with blue and yellow mold, along with a factory. Head towards this factory but don't go inside it. Instead, you'll want to climb over the roof and drop down to the area below.

Next, head left until you reach an area filled with yellow mold. It's now time to defeat those mold monsters all over again. After they've all crumbled away, you need to get as close to the yellow mold as possible before looking north. Depending on where you are, you might be able to see a small opening. If you can't, then head forwards, still staying as low as possible, until you can see it.

Inside that opening is the remains of the gym and within it the Gym Mold! One last delicious treat for the road. (Again, please don't actually eat mold unless it's the safe kind in tasty cheeses.)

7. Kill the Resonant behind the Mold Gate.

Now that Dylan has eaten enough mold to become sort-of-one-with-it, you can return to the Mold Gate. Upon interacting with it, the Mold Gate will open and you can follow the path beyond. Along the way, you'll find a Health Upgrade Point chest which is worth opening. It's also a good idea to visit The Gap to do some upgrades and use any spare Talent Points you might have before the upcoming boss battle. If you need a hand defeating it, check out my The Collective boss strategy.

With The Collective defeated, The Park Resonant mission will come to a close. You'll get 3,000 Source, one Reset Item, the Untapped Face Mask, one Talent Point and The Park XP.

If you're following along with my Control Resonant walkthrough, it's now time to complete the 'Enemy of My Enemy' mission, which is followed by 'Recursions and Iterations'. If you fancy doing something different, however, you can always find every taxi location, every dog location or do 'The Complete Set' side story.
