Superheroes are often as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and sometimes even as revered as gods. But that's when they're using their powers for good. What happens when the heroes go rogue and start abusing their powers? When it's the powerless against the super powerful, the Boys head out on a heroic quest to expose the truth about the Seven and Vought, the multibillion-dollar conglomerate that manages the superheroes and covers up their dirty secrets. Based on the comic book series of the same name.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

The Boys stays true to its form and completes its mission with ample panache, narrative pay-off, and an excess of blood and guts to deviously glorious effect.

While the political satire doesn’t always land, diabolism prevails -- The Boys will be The Boys.

The Boys’ latest comeback is proving to be promising, though, in a way that bodes well for the conclusion of a series that once felt profane, fresh, and exciting. Go to Full Review

The show’s fifth and final season has a familiar structure... But it stays strong – there’s even more gore and screw-loose social media commentary. Go to Full Review

Owen T. @RT48075424 14h Definitely stronger than the 4th season so far See more Ashton C @RT23186188 20h This season has been great so far and this series as a whole is probably one of my favorite. See more Jesus C @RT05879706 1d A show with enormous potential in its first three seasons, but which sadly gradually declines in the fifth. What happened? Was the script written by an AI? A few political references are fine, but the plot being based solely on IT? See more Jeff B @RT99430060 1d The Boys is by no means a faithful adaptation of the comic, and that is definately its strength. It's a story about super-heroes without morals, powered by billionaires intent on creating products to drive the entertainment and media industry that has made them all a fortune. The world has placed "The Seven" on a quasi-religious pedestal, and the slow descent of Homelander into becoming an absolute sociopath is Anthony Starr's greatest gift to the world. This show is the portal to a world where social and societial ills of this fictional world often blurs the line between parody and reality in our own world. Gory, dark and comedic, this show demonstrates how super-powered unredeemable monsters seeking total power will stop at nothing, and what happens when the good guys are just as bad as the worst of the bad ones... If you don't "get" the boys, you really need to look around the world we are living in right now. Essential viewing! Ignore the haters. See more Lord H. @RT31585074 2d S5 started of good better than s4. Episode 5 (spoiler alert) was a supernatural cast reunion filler. See more Noah P. @Theboyz0825 2d Better than season 4 all the way and it’s gonna be one of the best seasons See more Read all reviews
