David Kusnet was chief speechwriter for former president Bill Clinton during the 1992 campaign and the first two years of the Administration. He is a principal and senior writer at the Podesta Group, a government and public relations firm in Washington DC. He is the author of Speaking American and three other books about political and economic issues.
