Rockstar has been told to cooperate with investigations into alleged union busting, as MPs speak on behalf of fired GTA 6 employees.

Three Scottish Labour MPs have spoken out in support of the devs, who were fired over what Rockstar describes as "gross misconduct". However, the workers say that the explanations and evidence they have been provided with keep changing, and that their attempts to get to the bottom of this have been met with "silence".

Fired GTA 6 Devs Still Looking For Answers After Accusing Rockstar Of Union Busting

"From my first meeting with constituents impacted by Rockstar’s mass dismissal, I have held concerns with both the handling and motivation behind this action," says Chris Murray MP, speaking in a statement shared by game workers union IWGB. "Constituents have lost their jobs, their income, with one constituent even forced to leave the country due to the removal of their visa sponsor.

"During a recent meeting with a constituent they explained Rockstar’s justification for their dismissal has varied throughout this process. Rockstar must answer this case with transparency and full cooperation and uphold the right to appeal."

Tracy Gilbert MP also commented on the matter. "It is extremely disappointing that Rockstar has refused to properly engage with staff, representatives and trade unions throughout this process," she says. "Workers asking for fairness, transparency and respect should not be met with silence and closed doors, especially when livelihoods and workplace rights are at stake."

This all stems back to some messages made in a Discord group related to unionisation efforts. Those who were fired were members of IWGB. Rockstar alleges that confidential company information was shared in the group, which contained members who were not Rockstar employees. Therefore, Rockstar maintains that it fired these workers for leaking, not for unionising.

This has been firmly rejected by IWGB. "When Rockstar sacked 31 of our members without warning, we were confident it was an act of flagrant union-busting," IWGB president Alex Marshall says. "The evasion they have shown at every stage of the legal process has only strengthened our belief.

"They have acted as if they have impunity, showing no respect for UK employment law. Our multiple requests for cooperation, whether proposing in-person meetings or asking for the full evidence behind the dismissals, have been met with radio silence. When Rockstar does respond, it's with a shifting narrative that constantly contradicts itself."

Rockstar has not responded to these latest statements made by the Scottish Labour MPs. Right now, many believe that the company is poised to drop a third trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6.
