Reliable insider NateTheHate has said that June's State of Play will include exclusives other than Marvel's Wolverine and the unannounced God of War game, but to keep expectations "realistic" to enjoy it.

Earlier this year, Insomniac Games promised us that we'd be seeing more of the long-awaited Marvel's Wolverine at some point in "Spring". Just as we were getting dangerously close to the end of Spring without an update, PlayStation announced yesterday that a new State of Play is coming in June, with Wolverine as one of the centrepieces.

It's already exciting enough that we're getting a proper look at Wolverine after so long, but this State of Play is starting to look like a much bigger deal than we all assumed. Not only is it going to be longer than an hour, but it's also being screened in theatres for the first time since 2018. A reliable leaker has hinted at what might appear, while also warning everyone to be "realistic".

PlayStation's Next State Of Play Sounds Like A Big One, But You Should Be "Realistic" About It

I Guess I Won't Hope For Kingdom Hearts 4 This Time

Following the announcement of the upcoming State of Play, reliable gaming insider NateTheHate was unsurprisingly bombarded with questions about what to expect from the showcase. One Twitter user asked Nate if we'll see the rumoured God of War Faye game at the showcase, and he replied by saying that he didn't know, but that we "hopefully" will.

Another user asked Nate if we can expect exclusives other than Wolverine and God of War at the show, and he replied with a simple "yes". That's not too much of a surprise considering it's a State of Play, but it has started some hope about possibly seeing a classic series return or getting an update on Intergalactic.

Nate does suggest Spider-Man 3 (and likely the Venom game as well) won't be there, as it wouldn't make much sense for Insomniac to announce alongside spotlighting Wolverine.

Before you start getting too excited and think that this State of Play will show us everything PlayStation has been working on, Nate did say in another tweet that he thinks it'll be a "good" show as long as everyone keeps their expectations "realistic". That's some evergreen advice for these events, but it does suggest that wild card picks like Kingdom Hearts 4 probably won't be there.
