Marvel's Wolverine is arguably one of the biggest releases of 2026, with Insomniac trading in the webs for adamantium claws. What with the biggest game of the year coming later in the year too — that being Grand Theft Auto 6 — it seems as though PlayStation has been a little bit wary of slapping a release date on Marvel's Wolverine ever since its big re-reveal.
You can't really blame them either, as the game will be an absolute behemoth of a release when it launches this November, affecting everything around it in a not-so-positive way. PlayStation also apparently considers GTA 6 an exclusive in terms of its launch calendar, so making extremely sure when the game will launch is a high priority.
Marvel's Wolverine Finally Has A Release Date
Thankfully, that wait has now come to an end, as on a random Tuesday afternoon, it has been announced that Marvel's Wolverine will be launching on September 15 later this year. Insomniac did this with an extremely short trailer, uploaded to its official YouTube channel, which simply has "let's cut to the chase" in the description. Yep, that is a release date reveal.

Unfortunately, that's all we got from Insomniac today, so there is no extra footage to look over for extra details, though a release date is definitely more than welcome right now. It also gives the game a pretty decent amount of breathing room too, with the only other game scheduled to launch in September right now being Phantom Blade Zero.
Of course, the month will undoubtedly fill up as we get closer to GTA 6's release, and it seems more certain the game will actually launch when it claims it will this time. We have big games like Fable, Tomb Raider, and The Duskbloods all scheduled to launch at some point this year despite none of them having release dates just yet, so September will undoubtedly get busier.
Hopefully, Marvel's Wolverine will do well though, especially if you're hoping that Insomniac will keep going with its recent string of Marvel games. Last year, it was mentioned that both Marvel and Insomniac will "continue collaborating for many years to come", and if Insomniac keeps knocking it out of the park, there's no reason for it to end any time soon.
