In Arc Raiders, players will need to obtain a wide variety of items to help increase their chances of survival when exploring the robot-infested maps. Ranging in rarity (and usefulness), one item that's worth keeping an eye out for is the Explosive Compound. Used both in crafting different grenades (Hell yeah, things that explode) and upgrading the Explosive Station (Hell yeah, a place that makes things that explode), the Explosive Compound is something players — especially early on should snag.

Where To Find Explosive Compound
Unlike some other materials, there are actually a ton of places that Explosive Compounds can spawn. This makes narrowing down a selection of key spots a little tricky since everyone will swear by their preferred farming location. The Explosive Compound is both Security (chevron icon) and Industrial (building icon) loot, meaning it has a better chance to appear in any of the locations with that symbol.
That being said, in my experience, there are three of my favorite places to look for an Explosive Compound whenever I require one:
- Hydroponic Dome Complex in Dam Battlegrounds
- Vehicle Maintenance in Spaceport
- Warehouse Complex in The Blue Gate
Of the three, far and away, the point of interest I have had the most consistent luck in finding Explosive Compounds is the Hydroponic Dome Complex in Dam Battlegrounds. Located in the northeastern portion of the map, this area is broken up into a bunch of dome-shaped structures with a ton of lockers, bins, and breachable containers inside. Sporting both the Industrial and Security icons, you will have a better chance of locating Explosive Compounds here than at any other point of interest.
Two alternate locations I always like to visit are Vehicle Maintenance and Warehouse Complex. This is largely due to them having a nice density of lootable containers, and their relative compact size makes them easy to quickly sweep through if you are short on time.
How to Craft Explosive Compound
A simpler method for obtaining an Explosive Compound is to just craft it once you reach Level 2 of the Refiner. This is done by first reaching Level 1 via spending 60 Metal Parts and 5 ARC Powercells, and then hitting Level 2 by using 3 Toasters, 5 ARC Motion Cores, and 8 Fireball Burners.
After you've reached the required level, you will need to spend:
- 2 Crude Explosives
- 2 Oil
Doing so will make a single Explosive Compound, which may not seem like a lot, but given how frequently you'll come across the listed resources, you can actually make quite a few! Then, once you have your Explosive Compound, you can use it to make different types of grenades once the Explosive Station reaches Level 2.
