The Imperial Audience mission is an interlude quests and, essentially, one interactive cutscene. This walkthrough will also shed light on some of the ramifications of certain important choices you may have made in the previous game.

While Geralt is being washed and shaven for his royal meeting with King Emhyr var Emreis, Commander Morvran Voohis will question you about the events of The Witcher 2. This whole mission provides those without Witcher 2 saves (primarily console players) to make the choices with significant impact from the previous game, without playing it.

Brush up on the history of the Witcher before the scene plays out by watching “The Witcher In 5 Minutes…Sort Of.” This will help shed light on the possible ramifications of Witcher 2 decisions.

The Questions

Did you kill Arjan LaValette? If you killed Arjan LaValette in The Witcher 2 (or say you did) your interactions during the Broken Flowers main quest with a woman named Molly are different.

Did you go with Roche or Iorveth? This choice will only impact a brief conversation during the Get Junior main quest, when you visit Roche's camp for the first time.

Did you save Triss Merrigold or help Roche?

Did you warn Sile de Tansarville? If you allowed Sile de Tansarville to die during The Witcher 2 (or you say you did), she will not appear in The Great Escape main quest.

Did you spare or slay the Witcher Letho? If you mention that Letho is still alive, you'll be able to take part in the secondary quest Ghosts of the Past later in the game. If you say that he's dead you cannot access this quest.

When the interrogation is over, Geralt needs to get dressed and see the king. Loot all 3 sets, then head to your inventory to equip the outfit. When dressed, follow the Chamberlain’s instructions, the right bow-option is the second one [Left leg forward, right hand on chest.] After learning how to bow Chamberlain will lead you to the king. (Make sure to loot all 3 sets of clothes to sell later)

Turns out that Ciri is King Emhyr var Emreis’ daughter and he wants her back. He has enlisted Yennefer and now Geralt to track her down and bring her back safely. He sends you off to Yen to finish being briefed.

The two of you focus on the mission at hand, with some light back-and-forth banter. Yennefer is off to investigate a magical explosion and Geralt is off to Velen to track down a lead. Make sure to investigate as much of the palace as possible with your Witcher Senses to find and loot the secret room in the Garden area. The secret room is opened by a button on the wall that you only can see with your Witcher Senses. Inside the secret room you'll find a small chest containing a letter and a horse saddle.

Next, you'll take leave of this place as you head for the huge region of Velen in search of Ciri. This will kick off a major Act called In Ciri's Footsteps. Off you go!
