Silent Hill Townfall is the first Silent Hill game to be set in the UK, with it whisking you away to a sleepy, foggy Scottish town known as St. Amelia. Something has gone terribly wrong on this otherwise beautiful island, and it's down to our protagonist, Simon, to ultimately try and put things right.

To help you out with Townfall and its many puzzles, you'll find my Silent Hill Townfall walkthrough, guides, and some tips and tricks below.

There are light spoilers for Silent Hill Townfall below, but I've been careful to not mention any big story reveals or events.

Silent Hill Townfall tips and tricks

Below, you'll find a handful of tips and tricks to help you out when playing Townfall.

  • Don't ignore the CRTV – Townfall focuses on stealth over head-to-head combat, and the CRTV is incredibly useful for tracking the locations of enemies and therefore, avoiding them. Don't neglect it, or else you run the risk of running head-first into enemies, one of which can instantly kill you later in the game…
  • You can combine healing items – Alcohol can be combined with Gauze to make Sterilised Gauze, which heals you for more HP than a standard Gauze does. Similarly, Empty IV Bags can be combined with IV Fluid and equipped to give Simon a handy revive. Later, you'll be able to combine Antibiotics with your IV Bags for a revive that also heals you to full upon use.
  • Healing items are abundant, but ammunition is not – Healing items are abundant in Townfall if you take the time to loot everywhere, and in my experience on Normal difficulty, you'll rarely run low on these unless you are intentionally tanking damage. So, don't worry about healing items too much! Ammunition, on the other hand, is very scarce throughout the game (except in Part 5) so make sure to only use your rounds when absolutely necessary.
  • Prepare to hide – You'll soon notice Townfall features a lot of hiding spots, and for good reason. As mentioned, you'll spend more time stealthing around enemies rather than tackling them head-on, so it's a good idea to make a mental note of any hiding spots you encounter as and when you find them. You're likely going to need them…
  • Some doors can be locked behind you – Bathroom doors, office doors, and more. Lots of the doors in Townfall have manual locks on them, allowing you to lock the door behind you once inside. This is worth making use of, as going into rooms you can lock not only makes a good hiding spot, but also means you can look at your map and plot your next moves without worrying a monster is going to barge through the door.
