Knowing the best mods in Pragmata will help you build the perfect loadout for any situation, whether your combat focus is hacking or weapons. Additional mod slots are purchased using Lunafilament as you progress through Pragmata and each one is a worthy purchase since each mod provides a useful ability. These can range from increasing a specific stat to increasing the range of hacking to having an effect on enemies. There's a lot of mods to find too! With that in mind, let's take a look at our recommendation for the best mods in Pragmata.

Pragmata best mods listed

Below you'll find our recommendations for the best mods in Pragmata organised by Sector. Please keep in mind that this list is subjective, so your favourite mod might not appear on this list.

Hardened Suit

  • Ability: Increases HP by 10%.
  • Location: Sector 1 (Solar Power Plant) Block 3: Main Control Lobby.

Hardened Suit will most likely be the first mod you find and, due to this, it's worth equipping shortly after obtaining it. Why turn down a useful HP boost? There's a very high chance you'll find yourself switching it out for a different mod later on as your collection expands. Still, it's always worth keeping this mod at the back of your mind as that 10% HP boost could come in if you're struggling in a boss battle.

Extended Breach

  • Ability: Open enemies stay exposed for 15% longer.
  • Location: Sector 2 (Mass Production Array) Block 2: Shopping District.

Extended Breach is another early-game mod you might find yourself still using in the later sections of Pragmata. After all, the best way to destroy foes is to open them up through hacking before shooting their insides to pieces. (It's quite gruesome when you think about it, Diana is ripping their robotic rib cages open.) Thanks to Extended Breach's effect, the amount of time you deal damage to enemies has been increased. It also gives you more time to properly find, and exploit, an enemy's weak spot.

Close Quarters

  • Ability: Increases attack power by 10% when within 10 meters of the enemy.
  • Location: Sector 2 (Mass Production Array) Block 2: Shopping District.

When you're hacking, enemies have the opportunity to close in and, if you're not careful, this can lead you to being cornered. Thankfully, Close Quarters gives you the chance to fight back if (when) this occurs! With the attack boost this mod offers, you can really bring the pain when any enemy is up close and personal. It also comes in handy if you've been sneak attacked, giving you the chance to get an early edge in the fight. Finally, it's a mod I highly recommend considering if you've been primarily focusing on upgrading Hacking as it provides a useful boost to your weapons.

Relay Amplifier

  • Ability: Increases hacking range by 30%.
  • Location: Sector 2 (Mass Production Array) Block 3: Interconnecting Passage.

You're going to be doing a lot of hacking in Pragmata (and I mean, a lot), so boosting Diana's range really comes in handy. This mod allows you to put some more distance between yourself and any foe, which is very useful in narrow locations where there's little room for sideways movement. Alongside this, Relay Amplifier will make it easier to sneak attack some foes and, in doing so, give you the upper hand in the coming fight.

Recursive Learning

  • Ability: Increases hacking gauge buildup by 15% when successfully completing a hack.
  • Location: Sector 3 (Terra Dome) Block 2: Eco Modeling Lab.

As I mentioned above (and as you've most likely noticed by now), hacking is crucial to Pragmata. This means you should take any opportunity you have to increase its capabilities. This ranges from upgrading Diana's hacking ability to useful boosts from certain mods like this one! Here Recursive Learning helps you hack more by hacking, giving you a nice boost for your next hack. In doing so, it decreases the amount of time you spend hacking and lets you destroy enemies faster.

Analog Aggression OR Digital Dominance

Analog Aggression:

  • Ability: Increases weapon damage by 10%, but hacking damage decreases by 10%.
  • Location: Sector 4 (Lunum Mines) Block 2: Crane Operation Yard.

Digital Dominance

  • Ability: Increases hacking damage by 10%, but weapon damage decreases by 10%.
  • Location: Sector 4 (Lunum Mines) Block 2: Crane Operation Yard.

Since these mods have the same effect - be it opposite - I've roped them together in the same section. (Helpfully they can be found within the same Block in Sector 4!) The exact one you go for depends on your playstyle. Though, if you've gone for a more balanced overall loadout, then these are two mods you may want to consider skipping.

Analog Aggression is for anyone who prefers the raw, destructive, firepower of a good gun over the finesse of hacking. If you've put the majority of your Upgrade Components into the Primary Unit and focused on printing / upgrading weapons, then this is the mod for you. The work you've done will pay off in a damage boost! The hacking damage reduction can be offset by using a mod which will boost a different aspect of this ability, such as using Relay Amplifier to increase Diana's hacking range.

Digital Dominance, meanwhile, is for the hacking fans. If you've been primarily investing in hacking, turning Diana into the best little android she can be, then you'll want to consider using this mod. The increased hacking damage has the potential to greatly cut into a foe's health, reducing how much time you need to spend unleashing your weapons upon it. Like the above mod, it's still a good idea to equip another mod that will offset the weapon damage decrease in some form. Extended Breach is a good choice since, while it doesn't increase your weapon damage, it does extend the amount of time you can cause damage.

Eagle Eye

  • Ability: Increase attack power by 15% while airborne.
  • Location: Sector 4 (Lunum Mines) Block 4: Main Excavation Site.

While attacking enemies from the air can get you out of their line of fire, it can also be a little tricky. Not only is there a limit for how long you can remain airborne, but you've also got to ensure you're aiming correctly, taking the time to hack and not running into anything while flying around. (It would be awfully annoying if a pipe blocked your shot after all.) Due to this, having a dedicated airborne attack power boost ensures you can make the most of any flight-based combat. You might even be able to clear an area if you have the right weapons.

Heat Transfer

  • Ability: Enemy heat gauges fill 10% faster, causing enemies to be downed more quickly.
  • Location: Sector 6 (Central Port) Block 3: Regolith Lab.

Downed enemies equals easier to kill enemies, so who wouldn't want a boost to this effect? Just remember that Heat Transfer is found in the late game though. This means you'll have to wait a while before including it in your loadout. The good news, however, is that by point you should have unlocked a fair number of mod slots by this mod! Heat Transfer also comes in at the right time to help you through the final hours of Pragmata and can be usual if you're backtracking for collectibles.

Adrenaline Flood

  • Ability: When HP is below 25%, attack power increases by 20%.
  • Location: Sector 6 (Central Port) Block 5: Orbital Elevator.

If you're struggling with an end-game boss or are doing a Lunatic difficulty run, then this mod is highly worth considering. After all, who doesn't want a damage boost when they're running low on health? It could be what you need to win the fight! Adrenaline Flood is also incredibly useful if you don't want to use a mod with HP-benefits, like Quick Fix or Hardened Suit, because it actually rewards you for having low HP.

Hyperfocus

  • Ability: Direct hits from enemies no longer reset the hacking matrix.
  • Location: From Associate (second) Cabin Stamp Board.

Fights in Pragmata can get busy quickly. With bots coming from all directions, it can be hard to balance hacking and dodging enemy attacks. No matter how skilled you are, there's a chance you'll take a direct hit and lose all your work perfectly lining up those hacking nodes. Thankfully, having Hyperfocus equipped will prevent the hacking matrix from resetting. Though you will take damage from the attack which hit you… Still, this mod is incredibly useful if your current loadout relies around hacking dealing the majority of the damage since it provides useful support to this combat style.

Quick Fix

  • Ability: Increases the use speed of Repair Cartridges and boosts their effectiveness by 10%.
  • Location: From Associate (second) Cabin Stamp Board.

To say The Cradle has become a dangerous place is a bit of an understatement as, what was meant to be a routine mission, has turned into a life-or-death scenario for Hugh. Danger seems to be around every corner and, if you're not careful, Hugh's HP can really take a beating. This makes the Quick Fix mod ideal for your loadout, especially if you know a boss battle is just around the corner or don't have many Cartridge Holders. While the HP increase is useful, the real benefit is the speed boost since it allows you to get right back to shooting!

Target Weaknesses

  • Ability: Increases weapon damage to weak points by 15%.
  • Location: From Director (fourth) Cabin Stamp Board.

If you want to down an enemy quickly, then you need to hit their weak point. This can be anything from a batch of cylinders on their back to their head. You'll know when you've found this special spot, because the amount of damage you'll deal will most definitely increase. So why not take further advantage of this knowledge by equipping the Target Weaknesses mod? Dealing more damage is always good after all.

Hope these mods will help you through Pragmata! We've also got guides on the Storage Expanders and Red Keys locations.
