Over the course of the day, partners, Cloudflare leaders and technology experts came together to tackle one of the biggest questions facing our industry: How do we help customers adopt AI with confidence, while securing what comes next? The conversations quickly moved beyond products. We discussed AI governance, identity, data security, securing AI agents, empowering users, process transformation, the changing threat landscape. And, most importantly, how none of us will solve these challenges alone. What stood out wasn’t just the quality of the content, it was the openness of the discussion. Speakers deliberately created space for questions, debate and shared experiences, turning presentations into real conversations. That’s exactly how innovation happens. I am thrilled to announce that I have joined Cloudflare as the Director of Partner Sales for South of Europe. Contributing to Cloudflare's mission to help build a better Internet is significantly aligned with my purpose. A secure, fast, and reliable Internet is fundamental to the prosperity of businesses, societies, and individuals. I've witnessed this principle throughout all my career. Moreover, a free and dependable Internet is a prerequisite for democracy and economic well-being; without it, the path is paved to misery and tyranny. Cloudflare is doing more than just building and protecting the digital infrastructure. It's actively reinventing this infrastructure for the AI era, making it accessible for any developer to integrate into their code. Beyond the technology, Cloudflare functions as a global digital utility dedicated to the core and shared values of our societies: freedom, privacy, and support for free media and content creators. In its 15th anniversary, this looks stronger than ever. I was genuinely impressed by some of their global initiatives, showing that these are not just corporate slogans. A blend of purpose and strong execution is one of the greatest strengths of having founders like Matthew Prince and Michelle Zatlyn, perfectly illustrated by the recent “Content Independence Day” announcement last July. I’m deeply humbled by Cloudflare’s culture, technical excellence and the sheer talent of its people. From time to time, the quality of any organization is demonstrated by its reaction to things going wrong. I was positively moved by the recent “Code Orange” announcement. All this drew me in. I truly became a fan. I am very grateful to Mark Anderson, Tom Evans, Mark Jenkins, Tony van den Berge, Chema Alonso, Rémi Durand-Gasselin, John Shoop, Jeff Hilliard, Paloma Cano, Mike Awford, Niklas Jörding, and Val Z. and the rest of the team for giving me this amazing opportunity. From meeting new partners to strengthening existing relationships, the energy and ambition across the Middle East is unmistakable. This is a region moving at remarkable speed. The conversations and presentations throughout the week reflected a clear theme: rapid digitization, bold innovation, and a commitment to building world-class digital infrastructure, a trajectory that mirrors Cloudflare’s own pace of transformation. A major highlight was hosting partners at our first Cloudflare Partner Forum in Saudi Arabia. It was a privilege to deliver a presentation on our partner vision and to chair a panel with two of our leading professional services partners - Nima Saraf from InCloud, and Geoffroy Morgan de Rivery from Brixio. Their insights, guidance, and real-world experiences were invaluable for partners looking to build and scale their own Cloudflare practices. Beyond the business, I loved learning more about the cultures, traditions, and values that make this region so unique. Every meeting reinforced the same message: partnerships here are built on trust, connection, and shared purpose. Mark Jenkins liked thisMark Jenkins liked thisMy first company! I almost put away my golf clubs for good. Instead, it inspired me to build the company I wish I'd had all along. My grandfather taught me to play from a young age, sparking a path that took me across the Atlantic on a Division 1 scholarship to Georgia State University. After four years of high-level competition, I fell out of love with the game and pivoted into a career in finance. At the time, it felt like my golf chapter was closed for good. Then I saw the game from a different perspective. For business development, golf consistently outperformed busy seminars and expensive dinners for building genuine connections with my most valuable relationships. In the US, blending golf with business was second nature. In the UK, it was a different story. I watched forward-thinking firms retreat from the game entirely - wary of outdated stigmas and administrative friction. There was also a second gap I noticed during my time in corporate. And here is why: When I joined Cloudflare almost 7 years ago, we were a classic startup: raw, agile, and focused on pure execution. Yes, we have scaled massively since then (I hope you are one of the early investors). But the last 48 hours showed me again that our startup DNA is still very much intact. I just spent two days locked in a room with absolut amazing colleagues from litterely all over the world for an internal #AI workshop in Austin, Texas. The output was incredible: deterministic, reusable tools that solve real problems for our team, our partners, and broader business use cases. No aimless #vibecoding, just actual value built fast. Give smart people (and me 🙈) the space to execute, and magic happens. Thank you Danielle Knight for the opportunity to join :)

Unfortunately, due to a layoff, I couldn't attend the annual conference where they normally give these out. Picking it up from my front door wasn't quite as exciting as doing it in person but the honor in receiving it is just what I needed to motivate me as I continue on my search. So thank you to Kathryn Rose ⭐Amy Bailey and the CMA team for this and to every partner and teammate who made the work worth recognizing. And since I have your attention, I'm still looking for my next senior partner marketing role. The height of each Resource Bar shows anticipated % of time so if at any point in time there are two resource bars of equal height, then the staff member is allocating half their time to one project and the other half to another project.

Lots of people are asking my thoughts on the Confluent acquisition by IBM - here they are: - IBM will opensource a lot of Confluent's IP, they'll want to firstly reassure the community they are pro KIPs like 1150 and secondly, take a stab at AWS and Aiven managed services. - They'll dump Flink, if they haven't already! Looking at the profiles of people they let go already, they'll want to focus on just Kafka. - Licensing is an interesting one, they might start with including Confluent products into RHEL agreements in the next 6 months, while keeping them separate. Give it 18 months and those contracts will be rolled into Red Hat products which will include things like KORA out the box. Overall Confluent wasn't designed to be a public company - they didn't capture enough up-stack value and I think Kafka has found a stable home in IBM 💙
