While transitions naturally bring a moment of reflection, July 1st brought a moment of excitement: I have officially signed my new employment contract! I am absolutely thrilled to be joining a company that I have deeply admired and been inspired by for many years. It is an absolute privilege to step into an organization that isn't just leading its field, but is genuinely shaping the future of global technology and infrastructure. I have no doubt that their most exciting chapters are ahead, and I can't wait to contribute to that momentum. My journey there begins in mid-August. Until then, I am looking forward to taking a short breath, spending time with family, and stepping into this next phase fully charged. And to my Cloudflare Family; to my incredible former colleagues, especially those who are still navigating the job market. I want to leave you with a word of deep hope and encouragement. Traditionally, an agent is given thousands of tools and has to decide which one to call, one after another. Code Mode flips the model. Instead of becoming a tool operator, the agent becomes a software engineer. It searches for the APIs it needs, writes code to orchestrate them, and executes that code in a secure sandbox. Less time deciding which tool to use. More time solving the actual problem. As we move into the era of agentic AI, I believe the most capable agents won’t be the ones with the biggest toolbox—they’ll be the ones that can compose and execute workflows intelligently.
