Anthony Lye posted thisAnthropic's Claude: what would you tell a business person to do, or not do if they didnt have Quid? BLUF: Dont trust Claude on ANY live consumer or market number! Do use me for: Structuring the question, framing hypotheses, and turning raw numbers (that they paste in, or pull from wherever they do have access — Google Analytics, a CSV export, a competitor's public site) into a narrative or brief. General market/strategic reasoning: what usually drives category trends, how to think about a competitive landscape, what questions to ask of any data they get. Drafting deliverables — decks, reports, one-pagers — once real numbers are in hand. Sanity-checking methodology: "does this sample size support this claim," "is this the right metric for this question." Don't ask me for, or trust me on: Any live number — sentiment score, post volume, share of voice, follower count, trending topic — for their brand or category right now. I have no data connection without Quid; I'd either refuse or, worse, sound confident while guessing from stale training data. "What's trending" or "what are people saying" questions. That's exactly the live-listening gap — I don't know what happened on social media this week, let alone today. Competitive social benchmarking (engagement rates, posting cadence, follower growth) unless they've pasted the actual figures in. Causal or classification claims ("this drove the spike," "this is mostly Gen Z") from data I haven't actually seen — I can help design that analysis, but I can't run it on data that doesn't exist in the conversation. The one-line version: treat me as the analyst who's great at reasoning and writing but has no phone line to the outside world — bring me the data, and I'll help make sense of it and package it; don't ask me to go get it.

Stripped down to just "Claude with no tools" vs "Quid," the gap is big: live, proprietary data and system access that isn't in my training data and that I can't reach without a Quid connector. Concretely: Real social/news listening data — Quid Monitor's actual topic/analysis datasets (posts, sentiment, engagement, authors) are live and proprietary. I have no idea what's trending on a given brand's topic today; Quid does, because it's querying its own index, not my training data. Natural-language querying against that live data (AskQ) — I can reason about a question, but I can't answer "what's driving negative sentiment on X this week" without querying the actual dataset. Creating new Monitor topics — spinning up a curated listening topic with a tuned Boolean query is a Quid platform action, not something I can do in isolation. Cross-tab / trend / crosstab analysis over real post volumes — needs the underlying data warehouse. Q Agents — these are Quid/Terminal-hosted workflows (report/dataset generators) that run on Quid's infrastructure; I can call them but can't replicate what they do internally. Live social collection — pulling actual current Twitter/X, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, or LinkedIn posts. I have no independent access to those platforms. Company / news / patents search — Quid's Discover databases are indexed, structured, and current; my knowledge is frozen at training cutoff and not structured for search/filter. Competitive benchmarking (RivalIQ) — real follower/engagement/posting-cadence metrics for brand accounts. Writing to Terminal — pushing or replacing a live brief, or reading a team's actual customer-context record, is a write/read against Quid's own product, not something I can fabricate. Creating a live brief on a Quid Database Schema. I cant create schemas because I dont have the access to data that Quid has. I can build the UI however you want and share it. Everything else — writing, structuring, designing, analyzing data once it's fetched, generating the brief/PDF/deck around it — I can do myself. Quid's value-add is specifically the live proprietary data plane and the platform actions (create topic, run Q Agent, publish to Terminal); Aesop's skill layer just makes that surface bigger and more usable than the raw MCP tools alone (per the comparison PDF we were redoing).

Across 767,000 consumer posts in India over the last 90 days, taste sits at +69.5% sentiment. Consumers love it. But taste is only the 2nd-largest conversation. The #1 conversation is food safety and trust — at 7.2% of all talk, running at −18% sentiment. It's the only negative theme in the entire category. Consumers judge food on taste. But they talk about it most when trust breaks. That thesis came out of a single workflow. #Claude connected directly to Quid (the live consumer conversation data and the finished 8-page brief written in one flow. No exports. No handoffs. No two-week wait) 767K posts. Net sentiment +26%. #QuickCommerce conversation up 68% across the quarter. Three signals that should reset how you allocate 2027 brand investment: → #Safety is your biggest risk, but it's episodic. One week carries over a fifth of quarterly safety talk. The capability that matters is incident-response speed, not permanent reputation headcount. → #Quickcommerce isn't just distribution — it's now a demand channel. Consumers discuss availability as a product attribute. Blinkit Commerce Pvt Ltd, Zepto and Instamart are the default discovery route, not a fulfilment layer. → Publishing volume doesn't predict conversation share. #SweetKaramCoffee published 62.4% of measured snacks brand posts and holds 0.01% of snacks talk. #Kurkure published 10 times less, holds 5.3%. Something other than your posting cadence is doing the work. The #FMCG brands that will win Indian #food and #beverage in 2027 won't be the ones with the biggest content calendar. They'll be the ones who saw that output ≠ attention — before their competitors did. (https://lnkd.in/gPdknRYy) This is another indicator that buying behaviors have changed, but what are #commerce teams and #retail brands doing to meet their customers where they shop, and how does #AEO play into this? Using Quid's capabilities through our MCP, I wanted to take a look at VF Corporation's The North Face (which I've publicly stated that I'll be a fan of forever https://lnkd.in/gFWvQX9f) and their selection of men's outerwear. What we found were a number of opportunities to optimize product listings and assortments based on what's trending on social and how both potential customers and the media are talking about products in this category, including: 🤗 Embracing the #gorpcore aesthetic, which they're already closely associated with. 💣 Expanding their catalog of "bomber" style jackets. ⛷️ Optimizing jacket listings to take advantage of the emerging "ski-jacket" buzz. 🪖 Updating relevant product names to make them easier for people looking for military and barn jackets to find. Kevin Nix 100% agree.. Anthropic has a bigger TAM than salesforce. It can dominate the front end for the entire enterprise and get and put stuff in to any repository.
salesforce has an old SaaS app with a per seat pricing model. One that has Kevin rightly says isnt liked by its users.
