If you want to understand why frontier labs are lobbying for "national security" while NVIDIA's Jensen Huang broke a decade-long silence on X to sign a letter for open weights, look at their balance sheets, not their policy statements. Kimi K3 and GLM 5.3 are topping coding and cybersecurity benchmarks, an estimated 4-6 months behind Anthropic and OpenAI. Safety red lines could shield eroding technology leadership. Meanwhile compute giants fight for open weights because monetization scales with compute volume, regardless of who trains the model. More competition on the model layer is great news for their next earnings call. Here is the part people get wrong. This is not lying. It's motivated reasoning - it’s the way the human brain is wired, and Silicon Valley executives are not exempt from it. Our desired conclusion shapes how we evaluate evidence, and research shows expertise actually makes this even worse. Everyone in this debate could be sincere. Both sides have critical facts on their side. That's exactly what makes it hard, especially when the psychology is backed by this much money. Adversaries in hostile jurisdictions will access unconstrained models regardless of Western policy. Banning open weights doesn't disarm threat actors, it could cost defenders a duopoly premium. At the same time, the concern is real. After Volt and Salt Typhoon, concerns about giving Chinese models agency inside US enterprise environments deserves due-diligence. Before accepting the safety narratives on either side, we need a third voice in the room. The people who actually defend enterprise environments have no seat at this table, and no revenue tied to the outcome.

Asaf Azulay שיתף את זהThe first question about AI in an enterprise was: What can it do? The next one is harder: What are we willing to let it do? I spent years on the bank’s executive management team. Nobody in those rooms debated whether software was capable. We debated what it was allowed to touch and who was responsible when something went wrong. That conversation is back. Only now, the software can speak, decide, and act. So here is the ladder, as I see it: ➡️ Speak. The agent answers your customer. ➡️ Recommend. The agent tells your people what to do. ➡️ Decide. The agent makes the call. ➡️ Transact. The agent moves money. ➡️ Represent. The agent acts in the company’s name. Every enterprise is somewhere on this ladder right now. But the ladder is only half the picture. Authority is one factor. Consequence is the other. An agent recommending when to call a customer back and an agent recommending whether that customer should get credit are on the same rung. But they clearly don’t require the same level of trust. So the real question isn’t simply how much authority we give an agent. It’s what kind of decision we are giving it, and what happens if it gets it wrong. My rule is simple: the bigger the consequence, the more trust you need around the decision. If a mistake is easy to fix, move fast. If it isn’t, you need to understand why the decision was made, who owns it, and what happens next. That doesn’t mean AI should stay away from important decisions - quite the opposite. It means enterprises that build the right level of trust around AI can let it do more. And the market is already building around this. Encore AI just raised a $30M Series A led by Team8. Its agents speak directly with bank and insurance customers, bringing the playbooks of an institution’s best people into every conversation. More than 40 enterprises are already using it. Charm Security works with US credit unions to stop scams in real time, because when AI can convincingly speak to a customer, knowing who is on the other side matters too. Mate raised $35M so that when an agent tells a security team something, the team can understand why and decide whether to act. At the Team8 CISO Village Summit, 97% of 120 security leaders said their organizations have started adopting AI agents. 80% are already in production. So adoption is settled. Now the opportunity is to figure out how much more we can trust AI to do. The companies that get this right will move faster. Because trust is what gives them the confidence to let AI do more.

Product Hunt just named Plurai one of Q2 2026’s major Developer Tools launches 🚀 And for us, the bigger story is what happened after we introduced Vibe-Training. We’ve watched the way teams build and train Small Language Models (SLM) fundamentally change. Important observations Hanan Brand. One dynamic that becomes very visible when working between Israel and the U.S. is how early Israeli defense tech companies must think globally, almost from the beginning. Yes - from the beginning. The domestic ecosystem is an extraordinary laboratory for innovation, but scaling almost always requires engagement with larger markets. The continued role of the Israel Innovation Authority in early-stage depth has been essential in enabling founders to build technologies ambitious enough for that global path. These systems often need years of technical validation before they reach full commercial deployment. From the U.S. vantage point, Israeli founders who succeed are usually those who design technologies with international defense and infrastructure ecosystems in mind from the start. That alignment makes the transition from innovation to global adoption far more natural. It is encouraging to see this conversation happening at the intersection of policy, venture, and industry. When Israeli ingenuity meets American scale, interesting things tend to happen. Different accents, same mission, and usually the same WhatsApp groups. And of course, Am Israel Chai!
