Cathrin Hewitt shared thisFive months in, and it’s pretty exciting to see numbers like these. 🚀 $1.66B Subscription ARR. +33% YoY. $427.3M revenue. +38% YoY. 3,084 customers now spending $100K+ annually. But what excites me most isn’t just the growth, it’s where we’re growing. AI is changing cybersecurity incredibly quickly, and Rubrik is building for what comes next: securing AI agents, protecting the data they interact with, and helping organisations recover at machine speed. From a Talent perspective, results like these also make the conversations I’m having with candidates a lot more interesting. We’re not asking people to join on the promise of what Rubrik could become — there’s some serious momentum already behind us! And we’re still building. Cathrin Hewitt shared this5:30am in the summer holidays. Cuppa. Emails. Sunrise. Ted. No Slack, no meetings, no kids needing something from me. Just quiet. Working full time with two kids through the summer holidays is… a juggle😅 My working day doesn’t always look like 9–5 right now. Sometimes it starts at 5:30am. Sometimes work happens in pockets around days with the kids. Sometimes I pick things back up later in the evening. And one thing I’ve really appreciated since joining Rubrik is being trusted to make that work. There’s a lot said about “flexible working”, but for me real flexibility isn’t about working less. It’s about being trusted to deliver, while recognising that people have lives and families outside of work. I care enormously about my career and the work I do. I also know I probably only have another 8–10 summers where my kids genuinely want to spend this much time with me 🥹 I don’t want to have to choose between being ambitious and being present. I’m incredibly grateful to work somewhere that gives me the autonomy to be both ❤️ Family first doesn’t have to mean career second.

The best leaders I’ve worked with aren’t remembered because of the role they held or the size of their organisation. They’re remembered because they listened, they cared, they gave honest feedback even when it was uncomfortable, they challenged upwards when it mattered, they made time for people, and they treated everyone with respect. Positions are temporary. Titles come and go. Your reputation is built by the way you make people feel. That will always outlast the job title on your LinkedIn profile. The cybersecurity and data resilience company plans to use the investment to scale operations across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, while expanding hiring in sales, marketing, and customer support. The move also reinforces Rubrik's focus on helping enterprises address growing challenges around cyber resilience, AI adoption, and data sovereignty. Alongside the announcement, Rubrik revealed that its Rubrik Security Cloud will be available on the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, enabling public sector and highly regulated organisations to strengthen cyber resilience while meeting regional data residency requirements. The investment highlights the company's long-term commitment to the region as demand for AI-powered cybersecurity solutions continues to grow. "The UK is one of the world's leading technology markets, and has become increasingly important to Rubrik's long-term growth," said CEO and co-founder Bipul Sinha.

Cathrin Hewitt liked thisCathrin Hewitt liked thisThis morning i was thinking about my career and the journey. And out of nowhere i remembered my pitch deck for the job i am currently doing at Snyk. I pulled out my notes and the slides that successfully got me this job. I had to do a AppSec Pitch and one slide you see here was the developer to security ratio. It was a little bit before coding agents were popular, because almost 2 years ago nobody seemed to like them. But ine thing about this slide made me smile. The 10:1 ratio does not hold up today. With developers using agents the output increase drastically. It feels much more than 100:1. I also read the article from Anthropic about the AI-native SDLC playbook. They describe the same problem. Review and security become the bottleneck. What also stood out in the article is that Anthropic names the bottleneck, but there is no answer for this problem. But one thing is clear to me, the generator can not be the validator. This was the case in the before AI/Agent era and is and will be still valid now. What do you think about the ratio and the AI/Agent security? What is your approach? Happy to exchange and learn from each other.

Who are building pipelines before attrition happens/ planned headcount comes. Who understand that an open role isn’t just a vacancy - it’s a business problem waiting to be solved. Who are chasing numbers, protecting time-to-fill, moving fast on critical roles, and still trying to get the right person rather than just any person. Who sell the opportunity to candidates, manage expectations on both sides, navigate competing priorities, and somehow become the bridge between the business and the people who can make the business better. And somewhere in the middle of all of this… You’re listening. You’re calibrating. You’re giving feedback. You’re pushing back when needed. You’re trying to do right by the business and the candidate. So, shout-out to every recruiter who is quietly keeping the engine running. Your work may not always get the spotlight. But when the right people are in the right seats at the right time, the business feels it. Keep going. Keep challenging. Keep advocating. Keep building. Cathrin Hewitt liked thisCathrin Hewitt liked thisThe CRO of a Norwegian data center operator told me last week that his nearest police station is six minutes away. He said it like a spec number. For his customers, it is one. Three days in Norway and Sweden with the Rubrik sales team and our MSP partners, and the Nordic threat model is not the one we use in France. At home, cyber and data resilience is a compliance exercise. DORA articles and who signs the register. What I was shown in Oslo was EMP shielding, an OT sensor layer, concrete built to withstand a sustained physical attack, and a supplier list the operator does not get to choose. The state decides which vendors are allowed inside a building like that. None of that appears in a regulation. It is built on the assumption that someone hostile eventually turns up. The part I did not expect: the requests are coming from outside the Nordics. Defense buyers who want their data sitting in a country that is not their own. Sovereignty is starting to mean "stored where my own government cannot be pressured into reaching it," which is the opposite of how the word is used in Brussels. It becomes a hard requirement only in banking and defense. Everywhere else it stays a preference, and preferences lose to price. The countries with a border to worry about are already treating this as engineering. That will move west, and probably not slowly. If you sell into regulated European accounts, tell me whether your customers are now specifying a second site in another country and, if so, which country they name.

When is it ok to ask for feedback? During a recent work-related hotel visit, a staff member asked me to leave a review and wrote down their name because they get a bonus if I mention them. I had been at the hotel a grand total of 20 minutes at that point. So I left a review saying "it was ok, 3 stars, staff a bit keen to ask for reviews" - which is exactly how I felt. Is that wrong?

I still remember a presentation done by Juergen Schmid at one of my first partner conferences and my colleagues know I've used the format before once or twice. Wouldn't it be cool if your switch did XYZ ? No, because it should do these things. Well it is cool that my switch does ABC... you didn't expect that, you didn't even know you need it but now I've told you... It's a nice concept and always an appreciated presentation, I believe it was the first one I attended where I genuinely learned things about the product I didn't know. I am writing a bit of software myself, for my own enjoyment, sort of a Network Management System thats also a Source of Truth with Compliance built in - it may never be done but it's fun to build anyway. I just built another feature that I immediately thought was 'COOL' which reminded me of that old presentation. Automatic naming convention for VLANs to determine the priority so the system reads the VLAN table and deploys QoS across the entire system without you having to know or understand any of it. With Strict queues and buffer protection built into the ASIC it should give you a fighting chance of avoiding interuption during production when a user error occurs in the network. COOL. (I am not looking forward to trying to find a way to do TSN but perhaps it's a good thing to require user input on after all)
