Earlier this week, TheGamer reported that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2 port was on the way, with a release date scheduled at some point this Summer. All we had to wait for was an opportunity for either Nintendo or Square Enix to reveal the news, and today's Nintendo Partner Direct was a perfect opportunity to do so.

Turns out, that's exactly what the duo have done. Confirming our report, it has been announced that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be launching on June 3 later this summer.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's Nintendo Switch 2 Port Arrives June 3

Just like with the PS5 and PC versions of the game, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on Switch 2 will include pretty much everything you'd expect, including flashy combat and an almost overwhelming amount of minigames. If you're worried about the game's performance, it did seem to run pretty well in the showcase, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake Integrade is a very impressive port itself, so it's difficult to see Square Enix goofing up the sequel too much.

Square Enix has packed the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy with optional side activities.

As is usually the case with these Nintendo Partner Directs, there were more than a few exciting reveals and announcements besides Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's Switch 2 port. For example, a sequel to Paranormasight: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo was announced, and will release in just two weeks from now. A slew of Bethesda ports were also announced, including Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, but based on how they looked in the showcase, Switch 2 may not be the best place to play them.

If you want a handy recap of everything that was announced during the show, you can find one here.
