There are lots of furniture items you can use to decorate your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but none are quite as unique as the gyroids. They were introduced in the 2.0 update for the game, bringing back a fan-favorite item from the series' past. With a number of them to collect, you'll want to find out how you can get your hands on them.
Gyroids can't be purchased like most other furniture items, and you'll actually have to get out your shovel to start collecting them and placing them around your home and island. Here's everything you need to know about these interesting items.
What Are Gyroids?
Gyroids are unique furniture items available in a variety of types and colors. When you interact with a gyroid, it will make a noise and start to move, as if dancing to music.
There are 36 types of gyroids to be found in New Horizons. 35 of these types are customizable at a DIY workbench if you have customization kits in your inventory.
You can display gyroids inside and outside, and place them on top of other furniture items. You can also place them on walls inside houses, where they will be displayed on a shelf.

How To Get Gyroids
You can collect gyroids by obtaining a gyroid fragment, burying it in the ground and watering it, just like you would a fruit. The next day, you will dig up a full gyroid.
To obtain your first gyroid fragment, you need to speak to Brewster, who you can find on an island when you go on a Kapp'n boat tour.
He will give you the gyroid fragment, which you can then take back to your island to bury and water. You will be able to dig up a gyroid the next day.
From then on, you may find gyroid fragments buried on your island or on Mystery Island Tours. Whenever you find one, bury it and water it. The gyroid you receive will be random.
After a day of rain on your island, there's also a possibility for you to dig up fully-formed gyroids the following day. Make sure to investigate dig spots the day after it rains.
When going on Kapp'n's Mystery Island Tours, you may find yourself on the Rare Haniwa island, which has fully-formed gyroids buried on it.
How To Get The Brewster Gyroid
As part of the 36 gyroid types, you can obtain an exclusive gyroid from Brewster, the brewstoid, after he has set up his cafe in the museum.
After you've drunk coffee from him at least 50 times, he will give you the brewstoid the next time you order a coffee.
Ordering multiple cups of coffee in one day doesn't count. Only one coffee per day will count towards the total.
