It's been a hot minute since we last saw Cal Kestis, the main character of the Star Wars Jedi series, what with Survivor having launched over three years ago now. We know that another game is in the works, finishing off the trilogy, and it feels about time that we should start getting potential teasers or trailers giving us a hint as to what comes next for our young Jedi.

However, it sounds as though he might not be young for much longer. Those that have played the first two games will know that there's a pretty significant gap of time between Fallen Order and Survivor, that being about 5 years. We can probably expect another time skip between Survivor and the third game, but an insider has suggested that it may be even larger than the previous.

Star Wars Jedi 3 Might be Massively Aging Up Cal Kestis

This claim comes from Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson, who says in the latest episode of the site's podcast that he was told about Star Wars Jedi 3's setting about a year ago, and that it would feature a significantly older Cal Kestis.

"I mean this was like a year ago or whatever, but I heard that like Cal was going to be older in the game, so I don’t know if they’re doing like a little time jump or something."

Lucasfilm Says It Has More Cal Kestis Stories Coming, Which Surely Means A Live-Action Debut

I just got a little less worried that Cal won't make it out of Jedi 3 alive.

Given that it will still be Cameron Monaghan who will be playing Cal, and the actor still looks relatively young, I highly doubt we'll be seeing shriveled old Cal Kestis. Henderson did also make it clear that he wouldn't be old enough to "use his Lightsaber as walking stick", but a gruff forty-something Cal would be an interesting direction to go.

We'll have to wait and see if it's true, and we may only have to wait a few more days, as you'd imagine that Summer Game Fest or the Xbox Showcase on Sunday would be great places to show off Star Wars Jedi 3 if it's coming soon. Fingers crossed that we do see it there, and hopefully Cal has aged more like fine wine than milk.
