The finished product has more than justified the cost. From the casting to the costumes to the full-fledged concert performances, Michael lives up to the legendary status of its namesake.

If you want to relieve some of the MJ magic, Jafar, Fuqua, and those timeless bangers will quench a nostalgic thirst that will make you want to forget all that “negative stuff.” For a few moments anyway.

Excelente producción y narración rápida de la historia todo pasa muy rápido pero sales queriendo escuchar de nuevo toda la música del rey
La actuación del sobrino de Michael Jackson es una joya y también del que hace del papá de el

When compared to the recent influx of musical biopics, this one sits somewhere in the middle; there is too little depth to elevate it to the top, but the soundtrack is too strong to let it sink to the bottom.

No one expected this long-delayed piece of Michael Jackson pop-aganda to lay bare the man behind the myths and myriad controversies in forensic style. And yet… this soft-ball character study of the King of Pop only doubles down on the former, while completely ignoring the latter, hitting all the usual dreary biopic beats along the way.

There are very dark chapters in Michael Jackson’s life that one would not expect a film with the full endorsement of his estate to approve. It’s understandable, even expected, for these kinds of works. But what makes “Michael“ come underneath that generously low bar is that it refuses to paint its subject as anything less than saintly. It truly feels like this version of Jackson has been deified, shown to be consumed by his talent but without any dramatic stakes to accompany his triumphs.

Michael, or Bohemian Jacksody, is a film of listlessness and inhumanity that can’t help but suck the energy out of the room. No matter where you come down on Jackson as a person, this film is entirely the opposite of what he was, both as an iconic performer and a controversial tabloid figure. Who would have thought that such a carefully controlled, estate-permitted biopic might actually do more damage to an artist’s legacy by making him so uninteresting?

Whatever you think of Jackson, he was driven to create spectacular and innovative entertainment. And yet the film has none of that spirit. It was clearly intended as a tribute to him as a person, but it's a grievous insult to him as an artist.

This was an extremely captivating movie and the critics are very clearly going in business for themselves, inserting their world views and reviewing the movie with a bias. The box office proves how much people like this movie and no agenda driven slowflake critic can change that. Really excited for part 2.

Without going overboard - let’s first understand that this is a super complicated human being whose life cannot be captured in 90 minutes or so. Each of these can be its own movie.
1. His music
2. His dancing (style, uniqueness)
3. His early years including parental abuse.
4. His body transformation.
5. His relationships (weird as they are)
6. The child in him.
7. Later allegations and controversy.
And ask yourself. What do you expect to learn about MJ that you don’t already know.
What this movie does is take the path of least resistance in a rather shallow way that is PG13 and enjoyable with popcorn. You can watch this with your kids.
Just about fun. Entirely forgettable.
If there’s one shining quality about this movie - it’s Jafaar Jackson and his taking on his uncle’s persona. No one moves and dances like MJ - as JJ does. Incredible dedication to the cause.

It's an enjoyable biographical musical that keeps you entertained throughout. The familiar music makes it impossible not to nod your head along. If I'm not mistaken, this film has a sequel coming, right? Can't wait to follow along!

Moral of the story: Never listen to critics
They're just a bunch of dummy who doesn't know what the audience wants

Most biopics are very phony, this one is no different.
Can we just stop with this format of biopics already..? When does this end?
