The world is well-imagined and the aesthetics are perfection, but the fact they’re all built around an absurdly fun first-person shooter makes this a game you absolutely need to play.

Mouse P.I. For Hire is one enjoyable and visually stunning video game. While it stumbles like a drunk on Tuesday night when it comes to enemy variety; it more than makes up for it with a stellar voice cast, some fun combat and genuinely laugh-out-loud side quest missions. The game may be on the easy side but don’t let that dissuade you, this is one case worth taking on gumshoe.

Mouse: P.I. For Hire successfully brings its vision of combining the animation style of the 1930s with fast-paced shooter mechanics to life on screen. This adventure, which lasts about 15 hours, keeps players fully immersed with its satisfying combat, environmental design, and smooth technical performance. If you’re looking for pure, fast-paced, and intense action, this nostalgic world will more than satisfy you. However, if you’re expecting a deep detective experience worthy of the game’s name, complex character progression trees, or versatile progression systems, you’re likely to be somewhat disappointed. Despite all this, I believe it’s one of the most compelling and deserving titles of the year, thanks to its style, boldness, and the pure fun it offers.

A great shooter that kindly reminds me why I used to love Doom, Quake and Wolfenstein back in the day.
A noir style black and white art style that's just great. Has a 120 fps game mode on PS5 as well.

Mouse P.I. For Hire feels like a genuine love letter to the gaming community. It’s made by a talented group of developers who clearly care about digital art and about giving players something memorable. The game doesn’t need any hard selling; the art direction speaks for itself. It’s stylish, charming, and full of **** animations are hand made, and with that level of craftsmanship, I completely understand why there’s no ultra wide support. It’s an artistic limitation rather than a flaw, and it doesn’t take anything meaningful away from the experience. There are already PC mods that add ultra wide support, and the game looks fantastic with them. Even small visual tweaks, like changing the blood color to red, are available, and they add a fun bit of customization without breaking the game’s style. I genuinely wish them all the success in the world. They’ve set such a high bar that I’m sure it will be **** game runs great and is a joy to play. If you want something fun, unique, and unafraid to be a little silly, this is worth your time. The craftsmanship is obvious, and the whole experience reminds me of what gaming is supposed to be about.

Anyone who is into guns, crime fiction, and cheesy puns shouldn't miss Mouse: P.I. for Hire.

Mouse: P.I. For Hire charms the player with its visuals inspired by 1930s cartoons and a charismatic noir narrative. However, the simple and repetitive gameplay prevents the game from reaching its full potential as an FPS.

Mouse P.I. For Hire is a solid shooter with a beautiful aesthetic and interesting story, but the combat can feel a little too generic. The expressive rubber hose animation works, wonders, and the great cast help bring the characters to life in this mystery thriller, but I found it difficult to stay interested for longer periods of time because it didn’t have that spark that other big shooters have. It’s still fun, and I had a good time, but it just didn’t do enough to keep me locked in for longer periods of time.

Mouse: P.I. For Hire is an adrenaline-fueled and extremely fun boomer shooter. It stands out from the crowd thanks to its art style, but in terms of gameplay it doesn’t offer anything truly new. However, fans of the genre will love it.

Mouse: P.I. For Hire shows a deep love for animation of the era, but the gameplay and script lack the same level of care. A Gouda attempt, but nothing bleu me away. Cheesy in all the wrong ways.

Fun shooter with an interesting art style. Well produced and is a full game experience. Music is great, and the vocal performances are amazing. The fast paced shooting doesn't compliment the noir, detective, slow storytelling very well. Some might view that as an interesting idea, but I don't think it is as satisfying as it could be.

The story, dialogue, and writing overall is godawful. The gameplay is trite and boring. The enemies are lame. The characters and NPCs are lame. Music? Is there some in this game? Well, it's absolutely forgettable trash. The maps and mechanics are uninspired.
Also, we do NOT need celebrities in video games. I need you all to stop jerking off VA's, please. This is ridiculous. Why do people need to obsess so much over actors? It's seems so insane and nonsensical to me.
SummaryStep into a world of cartoon animation and retro action-packed adventure in Mouse. Inspired by the best of 30s rubber hose animation and the classic noir style, this retro shooter is a story-driven experience that will take you on a thrilling journey through a dangerous and corrupt city.
