Wine is Sacred

This page contains IGN's Walkthrough for Wine is Sacred, the sixth main quest of The Witcher 3's first DLC expansion, Blood and Wine.

Incognito with the Duchess

Leave the home that you ended the Where Children Toil, Toys Waste Away quest in and head for the nearby fast travel spot. Head over to the Beauclair Palace and run up the steps to meet with the Duchess.

After some back and forth, the three of you, including the head guardsman, well set off to check on storage of wine found on the cards used to blackmail Dettlaff. On your way there, you'll encounter a duo of panthers attacking a carriage. Take them out easily, then continue your journey until you reach Castel Ravello.

Where's the Wine?

After Anna snatches the keys to the wine cellar, follow her through the gate and down the stairs. Examine the wine log on the table, then start searching for the Sangreal - 1269 vintage wine. You'll find it upstairs towards the wall on the far right.

Once you've located the wine, check all six of the wine barrels to find that they are all full. Something can't be right. Go downstairs and loot the box in front of the stairs to find a barrel tap, while a wooden hammer can be found on the back wall behind the stairs.

Fort Astre Ruins

Go back upstairs and open the wine barrel that is second from the right. Here you'll find the switched out barrel. Watch a few more cutscenes and you'll eventually find yourself at Fort Astre Ruins. Next up is a fight against a group of bandits!

Just like in Envoys, Wineboys, a group of bandits will attack, but this time they've made things a bit easier for you. For one, none of them have shields, so you don't have to pull out Aard just yet. Archers are also not present, so enjoy the clear skies as you fight!

Also take note of the barrels in the area. Make sure you're standing a good distance back, then shoot one and watch your enemies fly across the screen.

After you've dealt with the bandits, another round of cutscenes will play. The Man from Cintra will begin once you regain control of Geralt.
