The Pyres of Novigrad is a main quest in Novigrad. This quest launches Geralt’s journey in Novigrad to look for Ciri. Hopefully, our old friend Triss will have seen her.

Pyres of Novigrad Walkthrough

When you cross the bridge into the city, follow your marker to one central hub in the city known as Hierarch Square. There you will witness a sorceress and a doppler being burned at the stake. The man responsible, Menge, won’t be around for too long. Move along to Triss’ house, which is nearby.

Looters are rummaging through Triss’ stuff. They do think she may have ran to the Putrid Grove to see the King of Beggars. All they know is that thieves and beggars go there. They suggest talking to beggars or following a thief to find the hidden place. When the guards intervene and make the looters leave, go inside Triss’ house and look around. Use your Witcher Senses to find key items. You can find the quest item “Rose of Remembrance” by her bed on the top floor.

At the grove’s secret entrance, talk to the guard behind the door. You can either use the phrase from the beggar, pay him, or use Axii at level 2 to persuade him.

Inside you’ll meet the King of the Beggars and find Triss! Head off with Triss and catch up for a bit. She needs to pick up some package from a local guy. When you arrive, he doesn’t have it. As you're about to leave some guards will show up outside the door.

Therefore you'll have to escape through a door in the floor, down the sewers. Go off with Triss down the ladder. In the sewers a Drowner will come to attack you, so have your silver sword ready! Down in the sewers, you'll also have to look for a secret passage. The secret passage can be opened by a brick on the right side of the pillar. Use your Witcher Senses to find it. The passage will open up and you'll step out in the canal.

At the canal, dive in and use your Witcher Senses to find the leather pouch, which is behind the boat carcas on the bottom. Return to Triss and go help her with a job. You two need to exterminate rats for some merchant. Demand your pay upfront, otherwise, you won’t be so lucky later on. Head inside and place the three tools around the barn like Triss asks. When all is in place, she begins the extermination process and you two catch up. Not for long though, since the merchant betrayed you and have called for guards to fight you.

Take out the soldiers from the Eternal Fire and confront the merchant outside. Demand double the pay and let him go. Triss is thankful and points you in the direction of someone who may be able to help track down Ciri through your dreams.
