Universal Tower Defense X is a Roblox strategy game with a huge amount of Units you can collect. As with other similar experiences, these collectable characters are based on a wide range of popular animes like One Piece, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End and Solo Leveling. It also shakes things up by including characters from games like Devil May Cry and Hatsune Miku!

There are tonnes of Units you can collect via the game's Summoning system, which makes it tricky trying to figure out the best characters to add to your party. That's where our Universal Tower Defense X tier list will help you out, as it reveals the best UTD units you can get.

The best Units in Universal Tower Defense X include Joyful Captain, Ancient Mage and Pirate King. Joyful Captain is a character that is capable of incredible levels of AoE damage which is ideal for hitting multiple enemies, while Ancient Mage is great at breaking shields and dealing damage per second. Pirate Captain, meanwhile, is an excellent support unit that can automatically upgrade.

One important thing to point out about UTDX is that there are different categories of units, and the best units for each category differs. The five types of Units available are Hybrid, Hill, Ground, Support and Farm. The above tier list tries to keep things simple and just round up the meta for the best overall Units in UTDX, and includes rankings from the official tier list revealed in the game's Discord server. As always with tier lists though, this tier list is subjective and may differ from your opinion.

Best traits

If you want to power up your team even further, you can also attach Traits to your Units. Some Traits work better than others, so making sure you get the best buffs is all dependent on what Trait you use with which Unit.

How to get more units in UTDX

Missing some of the Units from our Universal Tower Defense X tier list? If you need to collect more Units to craft the perfect party then you need to use the game's Summon system. There are different banners available which each have a different selection of Units you can get. To use the Special and Selection banners you'll need to exchange the Gems currency, while you'll need the Universal Gems currency for the Limited banner. If you're running short on either of these you can use Universal Tower Defense X codes to get Gems for free.
