We don't officially know what the next Pokemon Lego sets are going to look like. We do officially know that one of them will be a buildable Pokemon card, though, as Lego is holding a contest where fans can design the set themselves, and Lego just narrowed the field down to five finalists.

Lego launched its Pokemon TCG Challenge through Lego Ideas, the platform on which anyone can submit potential builds and, should they receive enough support, they might end up one day becoming a real set. The building phase of the challenge is now over, and these are the five sets Lego's review board has whittled it down to.

Lego's Build Your Card Pokemon TCG Challenge: The Finalists

The five Pokemon to make the cut are Joltik, Gyarados, Arceus, Mew, and Rowlet. The options were limited as Lego provided a list of 30 Pokemon for fans to work with. Creators were also restricted to only featuring one Pokemon per set, so no trying to squeeze two or more of your favorites in there if you were struggling to decide.

Other criteria included the design needing to be a full art card and no copying card artwork that already exists. It would have been very tempting to turn one of your favorite cards into a Lego set, but that wasn't allowed. The TCG set needed to be entirely original. If it wasn't, it wouldn't have been considered.

You Have Until June 11 To Vote For Your Favorite

Now that only five designs remain, it's up to you to decide which one of them goes on to become an actual Lego set. Voting is now open, and you have until June 11, 2026, to decide which one is your favorite and cast your vote. There's no way of knowing which sets have received the most votes either. It's going to be a while until we find out the winner, as the winning set won't be revealed until February 4, 2027.

There is a way to gauge which sets might be performing best in the vote so far, though, and that's by checking out which ones have received the most comments. If comments are anything to go by, the Gyarados: Sunset Splash is the most popular so far. It's a good-looking card and, like it or not, it stands to reason that a Pokemon from the original 151 might get the most votes.

Every Pokemon turned into Lego so far has been from Gen 1, even the leaked sets that haven't been officially revealed yet.

The Joltik Charges Up and - my personal favorite - The Mythical Arceus sets have 200 comments each, while the Rowlet Razor Leaf and Mew Soaring High sets have the least. Again, comments aren't the official metric on which Lego will determine the winner, but they're the best way we have to gauge which one might win until Lego tallies up the votes and reveals the winning build in 2027.
