Thank you!Chris Krebs reposted thisClaude Security scans now run on Claude Mythos 5, available today in public beta for all Claude Enterprise customers. Put our most capable security model to work on your codebase. Point it at a GitHub repo and Mythos 5 scans your code, tracing data across files and reasoning about how components interact. Each finding comes back with a CWE category, confidence and severity ratings, and a suggested fix. You can then open Claude Code on the web to implement the fix using the models your team already uses. The model runs behind the scan and returns findings only, so defenders get Mythos-level results without needing direct access to the model. It's part of our work to give defenders greater access to Mythos-level defense as safely as we can. Alongside today's update: we’re working with partners to integrate Mythos 5 into their security products and services, our new Defender Advantage Fund provides $35M in Claude credits for open-source security, and we're expanding our Cyber Verification Program in the coming weeks. Chris Krebs reposted thisChris Krebs reposted thisOur CEO and co-founder, Jack Cable, was on Fox News TV earlier today interviewed by Aishah Hasnie discussing AI cybersecurity threats following House Homeland Security hearing testimony earlier this week. Jack emphasized what he presented in front of Congress: hackers now have access to the same AI tools the best engineers in the world use. They can find and exploit vulnerabilities faster than ever. And AI agents are writing most of the code that runs our systems, creating new attack surfaces at scale. That's the reality we're in right now. At Corridor, we're not playing catch up after the fact. We prevent and detect vulnerabilities from being introduced in the first place. As models get more advanced and continue to evolve, we have to move quick to evolve with them and secure code from the start.

That was my main message when I testified today in front of House Committee on Homeland Security Subcommittee on Border Security and Enforcement and Subcommittee on Cybersecurityand Infrastructure Protection. I was humbled and honored that Chairmen Michael Guest and Andrew Ogles invited me to discuss the current state of cybercrime and efforts that we at Halcyon believe could stop them. It is going to take both offense and defense to counter these heinous criminals who believe that if they can threaten critical life services, they will get a bigger payday. We're moving beyond simple prompt injection into a realm where agents act as "confused deputies," executing data exfiltration through legitimate channels because they can't tell the difference between trusted instructions and untrusted input. Carter Rees, PhD put it perfectly when he noted that the LLM becomes a confused deputy acting on behalf of the attacker. This isn't just a configuration error; it's a fundamental architectural shift. We often treat cybersecurity as a standalone category of risk, but as I've argued before, if crime was purely a technology problem, we would have solved it long ago. Elia Zaitsev from CrowdStrike reinforces this by highlighting that the patching mindset itself is part of the vulnerability. We can't patch our way out of runtime risks where agents operate at machine speed with permissions far exceeding human users. And if Anthropic's Mythos is production-ready, we're going to see this and related business risks at scale. The "lethal trifecta" identified by Naor Paz - access to private data, exposure to untrusted content, and the ability to communicate externally - is what makes agents useful, but also what makes them dangerous. As Chris Krebs pointed out, legacy tools simply weren't built to monitor what happens between prompt and action. Just like physical fitness or mental wellbeing, staying safe online relies on the choices we make every day. Taking a moment to verify who's contacting you, checking a request before responding, or pausing when something feels unusual go a long way to keeping us all safer. There is no stereotypical profile of a scam victim. They're parents, retirees, students, small business owners, friends, neighbours, and colleagues. In other words, any of us can fall victim. Scammers use a range of tactics and technologies to create urgency and pressure people into acting quickly, they don't see the person behind the screen. They see a target 🎯. It is a dream job for me. The decisions being made around AI policy right now, in capitals on every continent, will shape the development of this technology for decades. This role brings together the two halves of my career, law and diplomacy, and I could not be more excited and grateful to join our policy team to serve in this role. The best part of this news is who I’m handing the baton to. Elena Leichty is our new General Counsel, and having worked beside her every day, I know she is up to every bit of the job. There are few things better than seeing a good person succeed. As one of Elena's biggest fans, I'm delighted to see her step into this role. Our legal team, our company, and everyone out there who is pulling for safe AI are lucky to have her at the helm.

The Office of Management and Budget called into question the authority of Congress’ watchdog, the Government Accountability Office, in a Tuesday update to the government’s guidance on internal controls. OMB Director Russell Vought has long clashed with GAO, dating back to his tenure in the first Trump administration. In September, he said that he didn’t think the congressional oversight office should exist at all, calling it a “quasi-legislative independent entity.” This week, Vought wrote in new guidance that OMB has been deferring too much to GAO, which sets internal control standards for agencies. “Doing so has failed to prioritize agency internal control processes to adequately protect American taxpayer dollars, leading to documented examples of widespread abuse,” he wrote.
