Walkthrough

This page contains IGN's walkthrough for the side quest The Secret Life of Count Romilly from The Witcher 3's first DLC expansion, Hearts of Stone.

As far as hidden treasure quests go this one is particularly spooky. Head to the Arnskrone Castle Ruins, which is located northeast of Heddel, southeast of Erde.

Upon arrival in the forest area, the sky will turn dark, sunshine or not. When you get to the foot of the estate, a pack of wolves will attack along with a level 37 Ancient Leshen. Igni works wonders on the leshen.

When all enemies fall to your blade, loot the skeleton at the base of a tree. It’s easier to spot with your Witcher Senses. Read the note and walk up the hill to the main building.

At the top are more wolves. Quickly slay them and head down the nearby set of stairs that lead into the estate. Inside, activate your Witcher Senses to see a red door. Ignore the red door for now! Instead, enter the yellow door on the right. Scavenge this room, a library, to find a chest in the back. Unlock it and raid its contents to complete this quest.

The red door from earlier, leads to a fight with three wraiths. You do NOT need to fight them for the quest, but they do drop alchemy ingredients and offer experience points. No harm in fighting the dead. Just use Aard to break down the door and Yrden to help beat the wraiths.
