This page contains IGN's Walkthrough for Blood Run, the third main quest of The Witcher 3's first DLC expansion, Blood and Wine.

The Beast of Toussaint

This quest is actually quite simple and fast. Once you chase the mysterious "beast" into an abandoned building in the The Beast of Toussaint quest, you'll engage in a fight.

His name is Dettlaff van der Eretein and he is a higher vampire with razor sharp claws. He likes to attack in consecutive hits, so be ready to dodge and roll when needed. When attacked, Dettlaff will turn to fog and appear behind you, so be ready to dodge here as well.

However, you do not need to defeat him to complete the mission. Just when you are about to run out of health, a custscene will play where Regis appears and saves you. A few cutscenes later, the quest will end and La Cage au Fou will start.
