Summary

The Elder Ones work their influences on mortal minds in many ways. No one is really sure who is held under their sway. Is someone trying to stop them or support them? It’s impossible to tell and yet, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Cthulhu: Dark Providence is a new take on Martin Wallace’s A Study in Emerald, which combines deck building mechanics, secret agendas, and the works of H.P. Lovecraft. As the Great Depression rages, cultists look to work their influence on the United States, twisting it into a nightmare version while Investigators are working to stop them.

Cthulhu: Dark Providence Board Game Review

Review scoring
great
Cthulhu: Dark Providence is a somewhat complicated and can be off-putting to certain gamers. But it blends the seemingly disparate elements of deck-building, area control, and hidden role mechanics with apparent ease.
