Logan Paul made his wrestling debut at WrestleMania 38 with the world's most expensive Pokémon card around his neck.

Paul paid the equivalent of more than $5 million for a Japanese Pikachu Illustrator card originally given away to just 39 art contest winners in 1998.

This specific card is a grade ten, meaning it's in the best condition possible, and the only one in existence. Paul swapped a grade nine version of the card (for which he paid $1.275 million) alongside $4 million in cash for what is now the most expensive Pokémon card ever sold privately.

He wore it in a diamond encrusted case on a gold chain as he walked on-stage at WrestleMania with his tag-team partner The Miz for his match against Rey and Dominik Mysterio.

A Guinness World Record certificate for the most expensive Pokémon card was presented to Paul following the match. He told the adjudicator: "I love Pokémon and the fact that it’s been validated with Guinness World Records. This is crazy. Tonight’s a wild night."

A flashy card on a gold chain is seemingly the YouTuber turned wrestler's signature look, as last year he sported a shiny Charizard Pokémon card to his boxing match against Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Paul is an avid Pokemon card collector and spends quite a bit on rare and valuable cards. However, there are risks with the hobby as Paul discovered when he paid $3.5 million for a fake box of first-edition Pokemon booster packs.
