We now have our hands on the Nintendo Switch 2, a new console from one of the biggest names in gaming. Alas, a new console is only as valuable as the library of games you can build on it.

Thankfully, Nintendo hasn't been shy about planned releases over the next year, which include a mix of Switch 2 exclusives, third-party releases, and the benefit of backward compatibility with any games still launching on the original Switch. Without further ado, here are all of the new Switch 2 games we can look forward to in 2026.

All Upcoming Switch 2 Games With Release Dates

MotoGP 26 (April 29, 2026)

For folks who want a little more realism in their racing sim than say Mario Kart World or Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, MotoGP’s got you covered. This year’s release will support full cross-play for playing with friends and introduces new ‘Rider Based Handling’ physics.

Amnesia: Rebirth (April 30, 2026)

The 2020 release from the iconic survival horror franchise is making its way to Switch 2 at the end of the month. We had a lot of praise for the game in our original review, describing it as “an excellent balance of problem solving and pure adrenaline.”

Mixtape (May 7, 2026)

The developers at Beethoven & Dinosaur are releasing a new music-inspired game about three friends enjoying their last night together in the 90’s. We got the chance to preview the narrative game about a year ago, saying it’s “a vibes game through-and-through, and Mixtape's vibes are impeccable.”

Call of the Elder Gods (May 12, 2026)

A sequel to 2020’s Call of the Sea, which we called “an excellent, poignant adventure” in our 9/10 review. Developer Out of the Blue has been marketing the new game as “a Lovecraftian narrative puzzle adventure,” and I think that sounds pretty darn enticing.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (May 12, 2026)

Set between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, this MachineGames adventure game places Indy on a quest for the secret of the Great Circle. Travel the world, from the Great Pyramids to sunken temples, infiltrate historic areas, and beat up baddies during your daring escapes. We had a lot of love for this one when it originally launched on consoles and PC, calling it “far and away the best Indy story this century” in our 9/10 review.

Yoshi and the Mysterious Book (May 21, 2026)*

The most recent first-party Nintendo game to get a firm release date, Yoshi and the Mysterious Book will be releasing exclusively on the Switch 2 this May. It’s the first Yoshi game since Yoshi’s Crafted World in 2019, and gameplay shown during its initial reveal hinted at some familiar mechanics. Before we get our hands on that, however, we’ll be seeing Yoshi voiced by Donald Glover in the Super Mario Galaxy movie.

Bubsy 4D (May 22, 2026)

We’re getting our first 3D Bubsy game in almost 30 years. Well, 4D. The platformer introduces some new moves to the usual roster, and will feature a spread of levels across three planets, which you can learn more about in our preview. The game will also immediately support online leaderboards for speedrunning.

Bluey’s Quest for the Gold Pen (May 28, 2026)

The latest game based on the children’s hit Bluey is making its way to Switch 2 this May. The game originally released on iOS this past December, and is pitched as an adventure game where you help the Heeler family retrieve Bluey’s Gold Pen from inside her drawings.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (June 3, 2026)

The second part of the Final Fantasy VII revamp is coming to Switch 2 consoles this summer. After escaping the city of Midgar, Cloud and co. must traverse across a massive beautiful world in pursuit of Sephiroth. IGN’s 9/10 review describes the game as “both a best-in-class action-RPG full of exciting challenge and depth, and as an awe-inspiring recreation of a world that has meant so much to so many for so long.”

Besides the graphics update, Rebirth introduces a new affinity system with allies and, yes, a ridiculous amount of side quests and mini-games.

Denshattack! (June 17, 2026)

Instead of trying to explain this one myself, I’m simply going to borrow from my colleague Rebekah Valentine’s interview with the developer: “Denshattack! Is Tony Hawk With Japanese Trains, for Train-Lovers, by Train-Lovers.” Yes, it’s awesome.

The Adventures of Elliot: The Millenium Tales (June 18, 2026)

The Adventures of Elliot is a new HD-2D RPG from the creators of Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default. While exploring ruins near his hometown, Elliot discovers an artifact that lets him traverse space and time. From there, you must travel across four ages, each with unique citizens and scenery, to try and save your home.

Rhythm Heaven Groove (July 2, 2026)

Rhythm Heaven is getting its first new entry in over a decade, and of course composer Tsunku has returned for the ride. Like previous iterations, the game will feature a collection of mini-games that ultimately task you with following the rhythm.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger (July 10, 2026)

The latest Digimon Story game was a highlight for RPG releases in 2025, and it's getting its own Switch 2 edition this summer. In his review of the full game on PC, writer George Yang highlights the storytelling as well as “nuances in type matchups and the tinkering you can do with your party’s evolutions and movesets.”

Splatoon Raiders (July 23, 2026)*

The next Splatoon game officially has a release date. The Switch 2-exclusive release will be single-player focused, letting you customize and control your own Mechanic, while supporting up to four players in co-op. It also looks to have a particularly big map that you progressively unlock throughout the game.

Another Eden Begins (September 17, 2026)

From Masato Kato, the writer behind Chrono Trigger, comes Another Eden Begins, a completely fresh RPG that takes you on a journey across the past, present, and future. Recruit companions from a roster of 18 characters to help you take down the Beast King and find your sister. This one’s got a whopping 10 endings on the menu, though I’m sure some of those are reserved for New Game+.

007 First Light (September 30, 2026)

Yet another massive multi-platform release, IO Interactive's take on James Bond is launching on Switch 2 several months after its initial release on PC, PS5, and Xbox in late May. The game lets you play out Bond's initial recruitment and rise in the MI6 ranks, featuring Patrick Gibson as the titular spy and Lenny Kravitz as the villain Bawma.
