Jamie Bell in “Half Man” HBO Max

Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series (Updated: May 28, 2026): It’s a strange year for miniseries.

Netflix’s “Beef” sits in pole position, riding on the anthology brand, which can carry forward goodwill into new installments. Especially with an all-star cast that includes Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan and Cailee Spaeny, who all seem viable for possible trips to the podium. Its challenger, however, remains up for debate.

HBO’s one-two punch of “DTF St. Louis” and “Half Man” could excite the industry and TV Academy voters, with stars like David Harbour and Jamie Bell, fiercely competitive in their respective races.

Nonetheless, with prestige television still in the spotlight, we’re closely watching some other Netflix titles, notably “Lord of the Flies” alongside its other streaming counterparts: “Black Rabbit,” “The Beast in Me” and “Death by Lightning.” All of which can find their individual pathways into the final five.

The Emmy Awards timeline begins with nomination-round voting from June 11-22, with nominations announced on July 8. The final voting runs from Aug. 17-26, leading into the Creative Arts Awards and Governors Gala on Sept. 5–6, culminating with the Emmy Awards ceremony on Sept. 14 on NBC.
