The purpose of the stories is to pay homage to the strength, resourcefulness, and cunning of female heroines in fairy tales. Like the first volume of Valor, the anthology is in full color. It will have approximately 200 pages of content with 19 comics, four prose stories, and 10 illustrations.

This is one the prose stories I wrote for the Valor Anthology, a retelling of the fairy tale All Furs.  I had a lot of fun writing it and the artwork illustrated for it was done by the awesome Emily Hann.

If you’re interesting in purchasing Valor, it is available both as a book and ebook {HERE}

This comic was my contribution to the Valor comic anthology, Godfather Death. The work is about a year and a half old at this point, and was a big landmark for me as it was the first time I created a work using almost entirely digital methods and I was trying to push myself to try more things that I usually refrain from (lol, what are cars?). There are things I wish I could have done differently with this in terms of pacing and staging, I’m not entirely sure that the ambiguous ending comes across as intentional, but none the less, I genuinely hope you guys enjoy this story, and that you might even go look into this lesser known fairy tale about Death.

Finette - Valor Anthology

“Finette” is inspired by the French tale Finette Cendron, but morphed into more of an “Old Woman and the Shoe” motif. I initially to stick closer to the tale, but what really shines is Finette’s resourcefulness. And that’s what carried through the most. The illustrations and borders for this story are done by the lovely Ran Brown, whose comic you really need to check out.

Prunella - Valor Anthology

Prunella is the story Megan and I wrote for the first Valor Anthology, based on a fairy tale transcribed by Andrew Lang. I always liked Prunella and Bensiabel, and how they seemed to have a cute vibe despite witches and curses. Fun times.
