Masks was the story I wrote for the Valor Anthology (such a gorgeous book, you should pick it up!!). It was inspired by a summer semester I spent in Italy back in 2009. Venice is such a strange, melancholy, mysterious feeling place, and I was totally captivated by the mascheri – in fact, I wound up making a series of masks upon my return as a capstone project! Masks was traditionally painted on Langton Prestige hot press paper using Winsor Newton’s Cotman line of pan watercolours.

Those who follow my webcomic, Beauty and The Beast,  may notice a couple of small cameos here ;)

Hey Team! I am really excited to be able to share with you all the short story I did for the @valor-anthology this past year. My story is based on the fairytale East of the Sun and West of the Moon. This book was so much fun and amazing to work on. It was run by some truly amazing people, and has so much talent packed into the book. I am honored to be among them.
