Christian Reilly shared thisHad chance to enjoy a few days of vacation (eventually) in beautiful Spain. In these days of AI and content creation, it’s wonderful to be reminded of how those not in technology see the world around us. 🇪🇸

Christian Reilly shared thisThe inconvenient truth: bot detection across the industry often rests on a hopeful assumption that if you make the wall tall enough, attackers stay out. In reality, a determined attack always finds a way through. The question is not whether a determined attacker can get through. They will. The question is what happens when they do. Find out more about Cloudflare Adaptive Intelligence in the new blog post below. 👇 https://lnkd.in/eaQZPdQSIntroducing Adaptive Intelligence: undermining the economics of every bot attackIntroducing Adaptive Intelligence: undermining the economics of every bot attack

Christian Reilly shared thisSince April, I’ve engaged with over 100 senior leaders across industries to introduce Cloudflare OS. 99% zero in on the “context” feature. Skills are “what”, context is “how”. Think about it - any work process, the steps you follow, whether you’re in a Procurement, Legal, Technology, Sales or any other function, the process of “what” you do is usually very similar across companies. That’s a skill. What isn’t consistent, or fungible, is “how” you do it. I saw this first hand in my 20 years at Bechtel - for example. The “how” was formed of decades of precise execution, taking into account intellectual property and institutional memory - along with culture. That’s the context. Capturing both of these elements is critical to enabling your true company process in an agentic world. As I’ve said before, I’ve committed a lot of my professional career to using technology to make things better. A vision I’ve had and couldn’t quite get to is now right in front of our eyes. And we are only just getting started. https://os.cloudflare.app Cloudflare

Christian Reilly reposted thisChristian Reilly reposted thisIt's more competitive to get an internship at Cloudflare than it is to get into Harvard. Don't believe me? Out of 1,111 internship positions, Cloudflare received 1M+ applications. That's around a 0.1% acceptance rate. I find that shocking, and I think a lot of other interns also grapple with the same disbelief. In a place like this, it is easy to look around and assume everyone else must be more technical, more prepared, or more naturally suited to the work. That is why something a leader told a few of us recently has stuck with me. We were on a call pitching an idea for the strategic direction of AI Crawl Control, and we made the caveat that none of us were Software Engineers. That’s when they said: "Never undersell your technical skills. You're here for a reason." Being surrounded by people with deep and wide expertise does not mean you know nothing. Our idea was valid, and it addressed the exact kind of hard questions being considered across the company as we rethink the future of the Internet. So if you’re here and sometimes feel wildly underqualified, welcome to the club, and know that you do not need to be the expert in the room to ask the questions that matter.

Christian Reilly reposted thisThese are pretty exciting roles, we have a lot of very cool digital engineering for a pharmaceutical company.Christian Reilly reposted thisHey everyone -- I'm hiring! And I need to hire quite a few roles!! Looking for experience hands-on Technical Architects to come and join me at Pfizer, preferably that love AI and are excited to use it in cutting edge ways to reinvent how we work. Christian Reilly shared thisA proud Dad moment today as middle and youngest have both achieved excellent A Level results and have secured their places at their first choice Universiites. As many of you know, Isabella had to do an extra school year as she recovered from an aggressive thyroid cancer which required 12 hours of surgery to remove. The work ethic and commitment from both of them, and the support for each other, left me awestruck and content - as a parent, all you ever want is the best for your kids. Onward - to study for degrees in Primary Education (Bella) and Cybersecurity (Fin) - a special day for us all. ❤️🙌

Christian Reilly shared this🔥Christian Reilly shared thisCloudflare has open sourced the software its own employees use every day, and buried inside it is an idea that breaks how we have built software for 25 years. The project is Cloudflare OS. Engineering, sales, support, everyone inside Cloudflare uses it to get work done. Here is the part that made me stop. When you ask it for a slide deck, it doesn't open a shared app in the cloud. It builds you your own private copy of a slide deck app, running in its own sandbox. They call these Gadgets. Two things follow from that. Your copy can't leak anyone else's data, because there's no shared server holding everyone's files. And you can change it, so if something is missing you just ask for it. No feature request, no roadmap, no begging a product team to care about your edge case. For 25 years the deal was that one company builds the app, everybody rents it, and you live with whatever they decided to build. That deal only made sense because building software was hard. It isn't hard anymore. The second piece is just as interesting. Their safety layer, Gatekeepers, fixes the most annoying thing about agents today. Right now an agent stops dead and waits for you to click approve, so people switch approvals off, which is how accidents happen. Cloudflare's version lets the agent keep working. It fakes the result, queues the real action, and you approve everything later in one go. Alongside it they released Computer, which gives an agent a real filesystem and a real shell instead of a pretend one. Both are free, both are on GitHub, and both are early and rough. But the direction is hard to unsee. Software you rent is slowly turning into software you own and edit. End of SaaS, or a nice idea that won't scale? #Cloudflare #OpenSource #SaaS #AIAgents #DevTools

Christian Reilly liked thisChristian Reilly liked thisI’m incredibly excited to share that I’ve joined OpenAI as part of the GTM team, supporting Education across EMEA 🚀 My journey through AWS, Cloudflare and Google has given me a front-row seat to some extraordinary shifts in technology. But AI feels different - not simply another wave of innovation, but a fundamental change in how we work, create, learn and solve problems. To be joining the team helping shape what comes next feels like both an enormous privilege and a meaningful responsibility. Only a few days in, the pace is remarkable, the ambition is palpable and the calibre of the people is genuinely exceptional. Most striking of all is the shared belief in a mission that truly matters: ensuring AGI benefits all of humanity. Let’s go! ✨

Christian Reilly liked thisChristian Reilly liked thisReturning from Terceira Island—my personal slice of paradise in the Azores—always brings a distinct shift in pace. Stepping off volcanic trails and out of the Atlantic air back into high-performance work requires the right ecosystem, and for me, that engine is Cloudflare OS. Fueling the Return to High Performance: * Seamless Transition: Unwinding in Terceira resets my focus; Cloudflare OS ensures I drop right back into deep work without friction, security bottlenecks, or latency. * Speed & Reliability: Just as the island’s raw nature forces you to be grounded, Cloudflare OS strips away the digital noise, optimizing my workflows and pushing my daily output to its peak. * Securing the Flow: Managing complex tasks requires absolute peace of mind. Having enterprise-grade security running silently in the background lets me focus entirely on high-impact results. Paradise resets the mind, but the right tech stack maintains the momentum. Back, recharged, and executing at scale. 🚀 #cloudflare #agenticera #cloudflareOS #betterinternet #aiperformance

Christian Reilly liked thisChristian Reilly liked thisSeptember 2026 is going to be really busy. But one event is standing out and I'm really, really excited for it! On September 24 2026, I will host a dedicated and hands-on Agentic Security Workshop day at our Cloudflare offices in Munich. Our own Chief Security Officer Grant Bourzikas will provide direct insights into our learnings of being part of #Glasswing and #Daybreak and how we are leveraging AI Frontier Lab models as well as self hosted open weight models within our own Security teams. And then, we will build! We will run labs where we'll give the attendees the tools and the environment to actually build Agentic Security Harnesses for Vulnerability Management as well as Security Incident Response Triage (SIRT). We're doing this to give the tools and provide the knowledge to all the defenders and leaders out there, to protect their systems and assets against the increasing threat that is AI-powered cyber attacks. If you want to be part of this workshop (and space is limited), send me a DM and I will follow up.

We helped move all the VMware workloads for a global Financial Services organisation onto Red Hat OpenShift. Inside a week…! We were deployed between OpenShift and their existing storage platform...and virtualised it...retaining their investment in their SAN and lowering the TCO of the move dramatically. They can now take their time to re-factor their applications to native containers, but they are off VMware! We also provided functionality for a bunch of capabilities they had come to rely on with VMware that gave them not an exact like for like capability match, but more to an enough. If you are like this organisation and want to move to an alternate ( #Kubernetes) platform, like #OpenShift from Red Hat, but it all just seems complicated and time consuming, especially ‘what to do’ about your storage platform investment, read on to find out how easy we've made it, in partnership with Red Hat, to get you off VMware and onto OpenShift. VMware integrated the virtualisation of storage, but with OpenShift you need a separate interface per storage platform (called CSI’s), that may not in itself be virtualised. Arctera.io compliments OpenShift with software that sits in the middle of this and solves the problem. Red Hat love Arctera for this capability. VMware...not loving us so much. So, if you've been contemplating a move off VMware, and OpenShift is in your consideration set, reach out to me so I can get you talking to one of our experts to explain how we make it happen. VMware to OpenShift! Let’s get moving! #technology #innovation from Arctera.io in partnership with Red Hat

Your cloud supplier just grew 48%. Did you? FY 2025 Hyperscaler numbers: Provider Q4 Cloud Revenue YoY Growth ✅ AWS $35.6bn 24% ✅ MS Azure $32.9bn 29% ✅ ✅ GCP $17.7bn 48% Now compare that with: G7 enterprise revenue growth? 1–5%. FTSE 100? Mid-single digits. So the maths is simple. If your revenue grows at 3% And your cloud supplier grows at 30% Cloud becomes a bigger % of your P&L. Which means one thing: 📈 Unless productivity rises equally fast, 📉 EBITDA compresses. 🛑 Quietly. 🛑 Gradually. 🛑 Compounded. Example. £50m revenue. 20% EBITDA = £10m. If £1m of cloud spend is 10% inefficient, £100k disappears. That’s 0.2 margin points gone. Now compound that... This isn’t anti-hyperscaler. They’re executing brilliantly. It’s a governance issue. In 2026, cloud optimisation isn’t a tech decision. It’s margin discipline. So here’s the question: When your cloud supplier grows 10x faster than you do… Is that strategic scaling? Or silent EBITDA erosion? #CloudEconomics #EBITDA #CapitalAllocation #CFO #BoardLevel #FinOps #MarginDiscipline #TechStrategy

My friend and colleague Chakkaravarthi Barathi T has written a brilliant note on how Commvault Cloud Rewind delivers #cyberrecovery. Resilience isn’t about bigger backups anymore. It’s about smarter recovery. Commvault’s new Cloud Rewind Architecture reframes recovery for the cloud era—treating it as code, not a manual process. Why it matters: In complex, multi-cloud environments, dependencies shift constantly. Cloud Rewind automates discovery, maps every relationship across infrastructure and data services, and rebuilds entire Cloud Application Assemblies on demand. Recovery-as-Code turns recovery into a repeatable, version-controlled workflow—validated continuously through drift detection and isolated test recoveries. No more guessing if your recovery plan will actually work when it counts. Key capabilities • Automated dependency mapping across multi-cloud stacks • Application-aware recovery through Cloud Assemblies • Infrastructure and data rebuilt as code • Snapshot-based protection for fast, low-overhead recovery • Continuous validation for cyber-resilience confidence The outcome: predictable, verifiable recovery across clouds, platforms, and workloads—built for the pace of modern operations. 🔗 Read more: https://lnkd.in/eBmQZTQq #RecoveryAsCode #CloudAssemblies #DataResilience #CyberResilience #MultiCloud #CloudRecovery #ApplicationResilience #CloudRewind #Commvault #CloudNative #Automation #InfrastructureAsCode #BusinessContinuity #DisasterRecovery #CloudOps #ResilienceEngineering
