Gym
Physical fitness and stat progression have been part of the Grand Theft Auto series in various forms, and gym activities appear set to return in Grand Theft Auto VI.
In the second trailer, Jason is shown bench pressing in an outdoor gym. Given that the main protagonist is depicted engaging in this activity, players will likely be able to interact with gym equipment in-game.
Activity Outcome
Gyms were first introduced in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, where players could train CJ, visibly altering his physique over time. Training also increased various stats, making it the most in-depth implementation of the system in the series.

In the “A Safehouse in the Hills” update for GTA Online, Rockstar introduced yoga and outdoor gym equipment that provided temporary stat boosts, such as increased speed and strength. However, these activities did not affect the character’s appearance.

While Red Dead Redemption 2 did not include building muscle, it featured a weight system where characters could gain or lose weight depending on food intake, similar to mechanics seen in San Andreas.
Based on these previous systems, Grand Theft Auto VI may combine elements from past iterations, allowing players to train Jason and Lucia for stat improvements, both temporary and permanent. Whether this will also affect muscle definition is currently unknown, though both characters already appear physically fit thanks to their interest in fitness, combat sports, and outdoor activities.
