American Football

American football has never featured as a playable sport in GTA, even though there have been plenty of references to the sport over the years. Contained in the promotional materials of GTA VI, there is potential evidence that we’ll see more of football in this latest release.

Whether we’ll be able to play football is up in the air, but in this image taken from the official GTA VI website, we can clearly see what appears to be a football in Jason’s trunk.

That might point towards some sort of incoming football-related activity or mini game. That’s not the only evidence, however, as in the Vice City 05 image from the official website, we can see NPCs tossing a football on the beach.

Finally, we know that the American Football Federation (AFF) will exist in the GTA VI universe, thanks to the following screenshot of Dre’Quan Priest’s Manatees jersey.

It’s very hard to make out, but the label appears to read “American Football Federation” and could point toward there being more teams, maybe even a functioning stadium.

Naturally, this is all speculation for now, but we are all curious to see what a football activity would be like if it did come to GTA VI.
