Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard
|
|
For sensitive matters, you may contact an individual bureaucrat directly by e-mail.
The Bureaucrats' noticeboard is a place where items related to the Bureaucrats can be discussed and coordinated. Any user is welcome to leave a message or join the discussion here. Please start a new section for each topic.
This is not a forum for grievances. It is a specific noticeboard addressing Bureaucrat-related issues. If you want to know more about an action by a particular bureaucrat, you should first raise the matter with them on their talk page. Please stay on topic, remain civil, and remember to assume good faith. Take extraneous comments or threads to relevant talk pages.
If you are here to report that an RFA or an RFB is "overdue" or "expired", please wait at least 12 hours from the scheduled end time before making a post here about it. There are a fair number of active bureaucrats; and an eye is being kept on the time remaining on these discussions. Thank you for your patience.

Deceased admin: Brendanconway
[edit]- Brendanconway (talk · contribs · blocks · protections · deletions · page moves · rights · RfA)
I'm sorry to inform you that this admin has passed away. Please desysop him and protect his user page, etc., per the guidelines for deceased Wikipedians. Please see his talk page for verification and feel free to add condolences there. He was about to be desysopped in the next batch of inactive admins. Graham87 (talk) 04:33, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
- Oof... The next batch has some familiar names too. :( – robertsky (talk) 08:09, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
Done the desysopping. Protection and other routines have already been done by others. Thank you to Brendonconway for his service - in real life and on Wikipedia - and all the best to his family. Acalamari 10:00, 28 February 2026 (UTC)

Adminship resignation (causa sui)
[edit]Per this message on my talk page I would like to resign my sysop rights on en.wiki.
Not that I expect anyone to care nearly 15 years after I stopped editing regularly, but it's for all the reasons mentioned at Common causes of admin burnout, plus mandatory humiliation rituals and mob justice at WP:ANI: preserved, in my particular case, for all-time at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents/Causa_sui.
--causa sui (talk) 16:17, 4 March 2026 (UTC)
- (Non-administrator comment) That certainly shouldn't be a sub-page of ANI (if it ever should have been), and since its creator hasn't edited in months (or even, really, years), should someone do a histmerge. —Fortuna, imperatrix 16:35, 4 March 2026 (UTC)
- WP:PARALLEL. An ordinary merge is all you're getting. Izno (talk) 16:46, 4 March 2026 (UTC)
- Moving a discussion to a subpage wasn't unheard of at the time for really long discussions. Made it easier to follow them specifically. I'd forgotten all about that particular dust-up. Mackensen (talk) 17:01, 4 March 2026 (UTC)
Done. Thank you for your service and please let me know if you need any other flags. 28bytes (talk) 17:13, 4 March 2026 (UTC)
