Jennifer Cheverie Cott posted thisThis one hurts. I joined BioWare in 2011. When the studio layoff hit in 2025 I was devastated but also hopeful. The friendships and mutual respect grown in the those 14 years remained a blessing. We stayed connected even as many of us were on different teams, we continued to learn together and encouraged each other. Since leaving BioWare, I have had the incredible privilege of working with many talented, kind, and genuinely good humans and I am so grateful for it. Still, someday I had always hoped to come home. If you have the chance to work with anyone from BioWare, Full Circle, Battlefield, or other EA teams (and not an EA team, but shout out to my Fantastic Pixel Castle crew, I miss you!) you are very lucky, they are the best of the best. I'm now open for new adventures myself - and for a bit of a positive take, I'm excited to focus inwards and really hone in on what my next most wanted experience will be. I know it'll include some really amazing people with new and hopefully old friends :) I am thankful for my time with Full Circle, wishing the remaining team the best. Shepard out. ♥️

Jennifer Cheverie Cott reposted thisJennifer Cheverie Cott reposted thisHi all! My contract at Full Circle is coming to an end early next month so I’m now looking for my next opportunity! I’m a Senior Producer with extensive experience across both live service and single-player games, including full life-cycle development from concept through to release and beyond. I’ve learned a huge amount during my time at Full Circle, particularly around content production and outsource management, and I’m excited to bring that experience to my next team. If you’re hiring for Producer, Senior Producer or Production/Development Director roles, I’d love to hear from you. If you know of a team that could be a good fit, I’d really appreciate you sharing this post or putting us in touch. 🎮

Jennifer Cheverie Cott shared thisBoosting for my engineering friends looking for a new adventure, Jesse is awesome to work with and so is this team!Jennifer Cheverie Cott shared this📣Calling all experienced and passionate gameplay engineers 📣 We need your help! 👋 We have an exciting new *Senior Software Engineer - Gameplay & Experience* role where you will build thrilling, memorable, and engaging gameplay features for our players. Although the role is engineering focussed, you will have the opportunity to harden and shape requirements, collaborate with engine specialists, researchers, and designers to solve interesting problems, and learn and mentor with your team. A truly fulfilling opportunity for the right person. My hot-take: I truly love this team we're building. The people here want to make a big impact, are very skilled at what they do, they help one another out proactively, and are just pleasant to work with. Interested? Jennifer Cheverie Cott reposted thisJennifer Cheverie Cott reposted thisFrom all of us at FPC to all of you, who have been with us the whole way, thank you. We hope this isn't goodbye. We're so proud of what we accomplished in just two years of development - from empty expanses to something that really started to resemble the game of our dreams. We have two last videos to share with you - some full playthroughs of our most recent Blue Shard missions. They are, of course, unfinished, but we hope you enjoy seeing the development progress. Jennifer Cheverie Cott reposted thisJennifer Cheverie Cott reposted thisWe are still in some talks for funding, and some may play out even after the studio has closed. In the meantime, if you have a project to get done, or need some leaders, or even a whole team, please reach out. I'm also going to do the thing where I recommend some of the team who are looking for jobs. We only hired senior folks with lots of experience. I would work with any of them again in a heartbeat. Happy to be joining some familiar (and new!) friendly faces on EA side, it's good to be back!! /kickflip! A massive THANK YOU to the team at Fantastic Pixel Castle - I can't begin to describe the incredible experience I had collaborating with these folks on Ghost over the last few months. They are some of the most resilient, talented, and just all around kind people to work with. These were truly some of the best months of my career ❤️

Today, I walked through the quiet halls of a studio that was once so full of creativity, passion and energy. It felt bizarre, yet incredibly tragic at the same time. There's something quite surreal about seeing a place that holds so many fond memories, experiences and moments of creative collaboration fall so quiet and empty It truly feels like a chapter of life's book is closing, not just for me, but for so many of us. I'll always be grateful for the people, the experiences and the memories made along the way. Some of the games may have fallen short of expectations, but nobody can deny the creative mark BioWare has left on the industry. It will forever be an iconic name in gaming.

Jennifer Cheverie Cott reacted on thisThe folks at North Mist have been working in stealth mode for the last year on a brand new I.P. from the brains of Lead Narrative Mary Kirby and Sr. Writer Sylvia Feketekuty, (also I was there too!). Now with the help of our newest artists, we're finally ready to bring some of our excitement to light over the coming months. Going indie is -not- easy, nor is it for the faint of heart, but I will confess the amount of dopamine per minute is very high. I've been getting back in touch with my artistic side, learning how to sculpt, rig and design characters as well as once more delving into animation and working with performers again. I could go on and on like a proper LinkedIn post but... TLDR: I'm extremely honoured to be leading this team.Jennifer Cheverie Cott reacted on thisWe're pleased to announce that Art Director Trystin Rosenberger and Senior 3D Artist Alaina McDonald have joined our team over the summer and absolutely have been crushing the art upgrade of our studio's first prototype, working title, "The Concierge"! A game about Canadian spies and assassins in an office drama-thriller. Supported by the Canada Media Fund | Fonds des médias du Canada, we've been able to transmute audio-dramas into video games... more on that later!

Jennifer Cheverie Cott reacted on thisJennifer Cheverie Cott reacted on thisI’ve never been very active on LinkedIn, which explains the lack of updates since I left Meta in January. But in light of last week’s news about BioWare’s closure, I felt it was time to share something I haven’t talked about publicly: from April until last week, I was the art director of the Mass Effect franchise. During this time, it was a privilege to work alongside such a talented team, with the shared ambition of exploring new creative territories while staying true to the legacy and spirit of the Mass Effect trilogy. Knowing that this work will never see the light of day is truly heartbreaking. We were good at this. We really were. I’m thinking about the team, the talent, what we could have achieved. In nearly 30 years in this industry, I’ve rarely seen a group so tightly knit, so experienced, and so good at working together. And I feel extremely honored to have been part of it. As for what comes next, I’d be curious to peek into my own future. I simply don’t know. For now, I’ll take a bit of time before figuring out next steps. In the meantime, I wish everyone affected all the very best for what lies ahead. Sparth - Nicolas

Jennifer Cheverie Cott liked thisJennifer Cheverie Cott liked thisIt's always bizarre to see a game developer openly shit talking another game developer's work. I always feel like there's a code about these things. We've all been there. Even on a single project, we never really know what pressures and constraints other people are under. So even if it wasn't your cup of tea, you find something you did like (or if you can't, just don't say anything) and move on to the next game. Maybe you're disappointed, but anyone who's worked in this industry for any length of time has more regrets than they know what to do with. And I mean, shit talk whoever you want in your private circles. I'm sure we ALL have at least one popular game that we hate for no reason beyond some hyper specific feud. Either because they did something you wish you'd get to do, or because they came out right next to you and you were always compared to each other, or because some very specific individual you have sworn an eternal vendetta against worked on it (I have at least three of those). But given where the industry is, I'm going to continue to take the advice I was given long ago and, if I have nothing nice to say, not say anything at all.

Let’s be real: 'Passion for games' doesn't pay the mortgage. In 2026, top-tier talent is choosing stability and competitive packages over 'cool projects.' If your recruitment strategy relies on your IP's fame rather than your retention strategy, you're going to lose your best people to the studios that get it. #GamingCareers #WorkLifeBalance #Recruitment #GameRecruiter

Simon Préfontaine and 11 Montreal game developers were laid off during a difficult stretch for the industry, with studio closures, scarce openings, and AI reshaping the work they do. Their colleagues marched, wore red, and pushed the employer back to the bargaining table, helping secure better severance for all 12. This GoFundMe was created to bring Montreal’s support closer to what American colleagues won through their own negotiations. The initial CAD 12,000 goal was meant to cover eight weeks of essentials like medication, bills, and utilities. It’s now surpassed that goal, with 10 participating beneficiaries receiving help based on need. 🎮 Thank you to the 52 donors who helped turn solidarity into practical support. Read the full story and share the GoFundMe page so this show of care reaches more people. #GameDevs #WorkerSolidarity https://lnkd.in/gETy-GJb

Alberta's game industry doesn't get built by accident. It gets built through community, mentorship, collaboration, and a lot of people willing to share what they've learned. I first met Cory Sellar at the Edmonton Screen Industries Office wrap-up party last year. Since then, I've become a big fan of the Good Game Edmonton podcast. Cory has a knack for bringing together thoughtful guests and digging into the real stories behind game development careers, studios, successes, and setbacks. That's why I'm especially excited to join Cory Stellar and other Guest Speakers for the fireside chat at NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) as part of Edmonton Startup Week. Edmonton Unlimited We'll be talking about what it actually takes to build games in Alberta, how newcomers can break into the industry, what opportunities exist here, and why I believe the future of game development in this province is incredibly bright. Whether you're a student, developer, founder, educator, or simply curious about the industry, we'd love to have you join us. 🎟️ Free registration: Reserve your spot https://luma.com/q0ae9zrw #GameDevYEG #DevYEG #AlbertaGames #GameDev #IndieGames #GameIndustry #EdmontonStartupWeek #NAIT #MadeInAlberta #YEG #TechCommunity
