Leigh H. posted thisAfter nearly 7 years at NAB, 2 as an employee of Zimbani and 5 as a permanent, I walked out of the NAB office today for the last time. Next Thursday I start a new chapter. Thanks to the many great people who supported me during my time there, and an extra special shout out to my peers, and those that have worked for me and helped us achieve brilliant things. I'd love to call out by name those that matter, but I hope you know who you are. Many friendships have formed, and I am truly grateful for that.

Leigh H. liked thisLeigh H. liked thisI'm delighted to share that I started a new role in June this year as Program Director, Cyber at Downer Group. Downer delivers and maintains the essential infrastructure that keeps communities running, roads, rail, power, water, telecommunications and more, across Australia and New Zealand. Stepping into cyber security within an organisation of this scale is a reminder of how far-reaching this work is. Cyber isn't a side project sitting in IT, done properly, it's enterprise change, touching every part of how a business operates, protects its people, and earns the trust of the communities it serves. This role builds on my time at EnergyAustralia, where I led a $46M+ cyber security and enterprise resilience program in a similarly complex, highly regulated environment. I'm looking forward to bringing that same energy to Downer building strong governance, working closely with teams across the business, and helping shape a cyber program built to last. Leigh H. liked thisLeigh H. liked thisHumbled and incredibly grateful to have been selected for the Exclusive Networks Rise Up Top Talent program. Spending three intense days at the leadership initiative in Sitges, Spain was an incredible experience. The program centred heavily around leadership, driving organisational change, and a highly immersive business simulation. We were tasked with managing a fictitious(ish) company, making critical decisions as a team to scale operations, maintaining profitability, expand our services, all while keeping vendor and partner perfectly aligned and responding to the ever-changing market conditions. The real highlight for me however, was collaborating with some of the brightest minds across our global network. The strategic takeaways and insights gained from this cohort are things I will carry with me for the rest of my professional career. A massive thank you to Becky Evans, Thomas Gill and the BTS team Clémence Lambret Larue, Freddie Parsons, Ville Nurmos who made this experience possible, and to the incredible group of peers (now friends!) I had the privilege to work alongside! Now, it’s time to bring these insights back to the field and drive our mission forward. Beyond being an incredible professional, he was an even better friend, always bringing kindness, wisdom, and genuine warmth to everyone around them. I am deeply grateful for the times we shared. Rest in peace, Barrie Bushell. You will be dearly missed, but your legacy and influence lives on in all of us who were lucky enough to know you. Please keep his family in your thoughts during this difficult time.

Leigh H. liked thisLeigh H. liked thisAfter 25 years, today is my last day with Infosys. It has been a remarkable run. From integration work at Telstra in 2000, to data migration at ANZ, to a decade-plus embedded at EnergyAustralia leading test programs across security, infrastructure, and large-scale migrations — I have been fortunate to work alongside some genuinely brilliant people on programs that mattered. A few moments I'll carry with me: the Ausgrid customer migration (2 million accounts, zero disruption), the data centre relocation that earned the EnergyAustralia Chair Award for "Be Bold and Move Fast," the Clear Skye IDAM upgrade where the team delivered zero production incidents on the first of five global rollouts, and the recognition of the Azure Sentinel SIEM work as a Chair Award finalist. Twenty-five years of programs, but also twenty-five years of mentoring, learning, and being part of teams that built things together. To everyone I have worked with — at Infosys, at EnergyAustralia, at ANZ, NAB, Telstra, and across the broader ecosystem — thank you. You taught me what enterprise IT really looks like up close. So, what's next? I'm in Melbourne and I'm open to what comes next — contract or permanent, test management at program scale, or something adjacent that uses what I've learned. My deepest expertise is in test strategy, governance, UAT, and large-scale system migration in regulated industries (energy, banking, utilities). I'm also building out work in AI governance and ethics through a side project that has reignited recently — happy to talk about that with anyone working in that space. Somewhere that feels a bit like home, but still like work. A few early highlights: • Seeing what people look like from the waist down 👀 • Thursday night drinks on the balcony 🍻 • And of course… the great paint debate The entry wall has divided the office: Apricot? Salmon? Coral? No consensus yet but it’s been a sure fire way to start a heated debate 😊 It’s great to have a space to come together. Even better to fill it with such a hardworking and inspiring team. Here’s to our new Sydney home 🙌

Leading an enterprise-wide cyber security and resilience program at EnergyAustralia (EA) has been one of the most meaningful engagements of my career. Not because of the scope or the scale (though both were significant) but because of the team. The people I worked with at EA were exceptional. Talented, dedicated, and forward-thinking in the truest sense, they consistently rose to meet complexity, pressure, and challenge with professionalism and purpose. The culture we built together was one I'll carry with me, high standards, genuine care for each other, and a shared commitment to doing work that lasts. To the team, every person who touched this program contributed to its delivery, or simply showed up with the right attitude on a hard day, thank you. Watching this group grow, develop, and deliver has been a privilege I won't forget. A very special thanks to Julie Bale for your leadership, and to my colleagues Chris Garniss, Glenn Stuttard and Eden Warhurst for making it look easy. To EnergyAustralia, you are doing important work at a critical moment in Australia's energy future. I have every confidence in the people and capability you have built, and I wish you the very best. After a short break over Easter, I'll be looking for my next big project in transformation, technology, and enterprise leadership. Please get in touch if I can help. A new framework providing practical, high-level cybersecurity guidance to help critical infrastructure (CI) operators strengthen their operational technology (OT) resilience during crisis or disruption. 🧩 What it is CI Fortify sets out clear actions to ensure essential services can continue even under sustained cyberattack or system isolation. 🎯 Why it exists Australia’s Critical Infrastructure remains a prime target for both state-sponsored and criminal actors. These systems were never designed to endure today’s cyber threats, making proactive resilience a national priority. ⚙️ What it requires CI Fortify challenges operators to: 🔹 Isolate vital OT systems for up to 3 months while maintaining operations. 🔹 Rapidly rebuild those systems from trusted backups. Preparation steps include: 1. Maintaining a current OT asset inventory 2. Identifying vital systems critical to service continuity 3.
