Bill Sullivan shared thisI was recently reminded of the power of human connection in our professional environment, as I got to hang with our friends from We Are Mobilise in their ‘hood in Melbourne (photo 4), our Tower in Sydney (photo 1, with Daniel Mellish), and the iconic Sydney Opera House for an event hosted by Nedd Brockmann to help Australia’s homeless population. (Nedd is here on stage with WaM’s amazing CEO, Noah Yang , in photo 3). Photo 2 was last week, and is simply a shameless plug to our customers to please come visit us in the Salesforce Tower, regardless of the weather. :) I’m so very inspired by the incredible work We Are Mobilise and our other NGO customers are accomplishing, and I’m incredibly proud of Salesforce’s role in helping them make such an impact. The friendships we’ve established only further strengthen what we can accomplish together. <3 - with Danielle Schutte MPH , Krystal Valentine , Hrishikesh Thatiot , Elliot Burn , and Rebecca Lim

Bill Sullivan shared thisThe spouse of my colleague Maxwell Acker DeOliveira, Brynn Bottalico , penned the attached article; it answers questions I've been asking myself for decades about service, and the struggles many of my fellow veterans have subsequently faced... whether they have been to war or not. The most confronting statistic Brynn discusses: "Among Iraq and Afghanistan-era veterans, those who did not see combat had a 48% higher suicide rate than veterans who saw combat on their deployment." It is the best summation I have ever read on the subject. https://lnkd.in/gvmu2nWH In a cool coincidence, I recently participated in a Panel discussion augmenting a class Torrens University students are undertaking-- a hands-on industries project using Tableau and AI analysis tools, 'Military Veteran Suicide Rates: Early Detection Saves Lives,' alongside Dr Hayden McDonald, Mark Tossell, Karla Marisse Silva and Adriaan Steyn. Here's a three minute synopsis of this super vital endeavour. https://lnkd.in/g7tEkDZi Such important stuff to try and understand... With my brothers and sisters. 🙏IND502 - Managing Complexity: Industry Projects - Subject Introduction - Hayden Mc Donald, Karla Silva, Bill Sullivan, Mark Tossell & Adriaan SteynIND502 - Managing Complexity: Industry Projects - Subject Introduction - Hayden Mc Donald, Karla Silva, Bill Sullivan, Mark Tossell & Adriaan Steyn

Bill Sullivan shared thisI’m always stoked to shout out my sons as they pursue their passions. Liam (vocals) and his mates had their first paid gig last night at the Oxford Art Factory here in Sydney; they crushed it! Here are a few seconds from one of their originals, ‘Saddleback’. If you happen to see fish no. 46 on the bill and you dig rock music, I encourage you to check ‘em out! :)

Bill Sullivan shared thisI had a really fun opportunity to chat with Mr. Mango - Isaac T Cohen about Sales Leadership, flying ‘hawks, and where my two careers have intersected. Check out this 2 minute clip if you have a sec! https://lnkd.in/gP4w5tFq … and I’ll link the full 18 minute Pod in the Comments. :) Cheers, friends!

Bill Sullivan shared thisI’ve had the privilege of work for two exceptional US-headquartered companies for the vast majority of my 12 year corporate career here in Australia, following my retirement from the United States Air Force : CEB, now Gartner , and Salesforce . Both have given me the chance to experience a bit of home from half way around the world. It’s a lot of nuanced things that make companies like these uniquely American, I think… but if I had to sum it up in one word, I’d say it’d be ‘impactful’. I didn’t make it back for this weekend’s fireworks, but I did make it to our ‘nation’s HQ’ in DC for the 200th back in ‘76 (Pic 1) in ‘simpler times’… and got to fly there to close out my AF career (Pic 2). :) I’m so thankful for both of my countries, and all they have offered my family and me. Happy 250th, America!

Bill Sullivan shared thisI had the incredible honour of representing Salesforce, #Vetforce, and the United States Air Force this past Tuesday night, as Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Office of the Official Secretary to the Governor-General Sam Mostyn opened the Atrium and the ANZAC Hall of the Australian War Memorial. What a first class facility on a global scale! It truly honours all who have served, particularly those that have made the ultimate sacrifice. The ceremony itself was very moving... particularly when Governor General Mostyn shared the '15 Qualities of the Australian Serviceman or Servicewoman', chosen by artist Napier Waller, and immortalised in the Hall of Memory. It was a reminder of why I felt so honoured to serve alongside such warriors for 24 years... and why these folks make great teammates... regardless of the profession. I also was really stoked to see a 'hawk in the Atrium... a modified version of which served as my 'office' for 13 years... and the Kandahar display brought back heavy and powerful memories from my two tours of duty flying combat rescue missions out of there. Thank you sincerely to Briony Young and Paul Spencer for inviting me along; what a night! Please consider visiting the AWM the next time you're in Canberra; you won't be disappointed. :) --------------------- Personal Qualities Resource: The ability to find creative and bold solutions to difficult problems. Candour: The frank, honest, and open way Australians express themselves. Devotion: Selfless dedication, historically symbolised alongside the charity of the Red Cross. Curiosity: The reward of knowledge gained through enquiry and alertness. Independence: National steadfastness, stability, and maintaining one's course in the face of adversity. Social Qualities Comradeship: Fellowship, unity, and good cheer shared among teammates. Ancestry: Relevance and reverence for historical traditions, knowledge, and heritage. Patriotism: Deep loyalty and love for the homeland. Chivalry: A code of honour, linking modern service back to historical knightly gallantry. Loyalty: Unwavering commitment to a shared cause, ideal, or fellow service members. Fighting Qualities Coolness: Calm confidence and composure in the face of extreme adversity. Control: Discipline over one's self and one's immediate environment. Audacity: Extraordinary boldness, courage, and daring action. Endurance: Physical and mental stamina to persevere through hardship. Decision: The capacity for swift, resolute judgment and action.

Bill Sullivan shared thisWe had a couple of exceptional opportunities to give back this past week. Yesterday, I was honoured to sit on a Panel alongside Adriaan Steyn, Mark Tossell and Dr Hayden McDonald to discuss 'Resilience, Reinvention and Wellbeing' on behalf of Vetforce Australia and Torrens University Australia, with my Salesforce teammates and our Torrens friends in the audience. And just the day prior, my colleagues and I had the chance to support the Sydney Institute of Marine Science's 'Living Seawalls' project with Sydney By Kayak on the stunning Sydney Harbour. What a wonderful week! Thanks huge to Salesforce for continuing to encourage us to contribute to our communities and these amazing GPS and and NGO organisations. 🙂

Bill Sullivan reacted on thisBill Sullivan reacted on thisClaudforce is an important moment. Salesforce and Anthropic have cemented their focus on the fortune 2000 enterprise segment. Now it’s time for HubSpot to go deep with ChatGPT to capture the mid and small market. We’re a small business and I use the native GPT connector to Hubspot all day long. And it’s great. There’s a great market there without having to touch the enterprise. And the best part is that the mid market is where all the good ideas in Martech are created. Enterprises are too bound up in compliance, hyper complexity and stasis to do much that’s genuinely new with AI over the next few years.

Bill Sullivan reacted on thisBill Sullivan reacted on thisI was an undrafted rookie with a $2,000 signing bonus when Tom Brady walked up and introduced himself. It was my first day in New England, I was 21, and I was still digging through my bag making sure I had my notebook and everything else for meetings. I felt somebody walking toward me and I just kept getting more flustered, and then he got close and said, hey Kenny, I'm Tom. I was too star struck to get much of anything back. What I found out later was that the whole building did it. The vets learned the rookies before we ever showed up, where we went to school, all of that. And it was our job as rookies to do the same, that was the culture. If the best player in the world knows the guy with the least amount of money invested in him, you start believing you're supposed to be there. After I left New England to play in Indianapolis I made it my thing to learn the names of everyone in the building, front office to custodial staff, because someone did that for me. The person vacuuming the carpet after practice matters the same to me as the guy under center.

I loved so many of her quotes and one-liners, but we have been hearing a lot about associate development, quality and depth of teams, the fear and impact of training with AI, and succession planning in interviews lately. Dolly was often ahead of her time and I think her perspective on leadership was simple and yet a powerful self assessment opportunity: "If your actions create a legacy that inspires others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, then you are an excellent leader." - Dolly Parton In her honor, let's all try to be a bit more like Dolly! #ItsNotASecret #DollyParton #ClientFeedback #VoiceofClient #BusinessofLaw

The 2026 Employee Experience Trends Report, based on responses from more than 2,000 Australian workers as part of a global survey of over 33,000 employees across 24 countries, found Australian engagement climbed five points year-on-year to 68 per cent, compared with a three-point decline globally.

Big news in the AI world today and a great moment for Aussie innovation. Virgin Australia has just announced a first of its kind collaboration with OpenAI, bringing practical AI assistants into their operations and customer experience. What really stands out is how useful the tools are in the real world. The AI will support frontline teams by • giving quick, accurate answers to customer questions • pulling up up to date travel and service information • summarising policies and procedures on the spot • reducing admin and manual workload • helping staff make better decisions faster This is exactly what good AI adoption looks like. No hype. No gimmicks. Just real, everyday support that helps people do their jobs better. And yes, these are the same kinds of capabilities you can use directly in ChatGPT. The power comes from understanding how to use it properly in your workflow. I love seeing Australian companies embrace AI in a way that actually creates value. When organisations stop thinking of AI as a novelty and start treating it like a working partner, everything changes. Huge credit to Virgin Australia for leading the way. I reckon we will see many more local organisations taking similar steps in 2025. If your team wants to learn how to use AI in a practical and hands on way that makes a real difference, I am always happy to help. https://lnkd.in/gTv-Rvi4
