Amarnath Datar posted thisI keep seeing the same endless loop of posts predicting that AI will completely replace software developers. But the narrative misses a fundamental truth: Where does the AI get its knowledge? There is nothing artificial about AI. The model's don't invent from scratch. They train on the vast, collective repository of documentation, code, solutions, and open-source contributions created by HUMAN developers. If we remove human engineers from the equation, two things happen: -The well runs dry. AI cannot naturally pioneer a brand-new programming paradigm, adapt to new hardware, or solve a highly specific enterprise problem it has never seen before. -Model collapse. Training AI primarily on synthetic, AI-generated data eventually leads to an echo chamber of compounded errors. The value of a great developer has never been just about typing out syntax—it’s about problem-solving, context mapping, and translating messy human needs into logic. AI won't replace developers. But developers who learn to use AI as a force multiplier will certainly redefine the industry. Let's focus less on the replacement myth and more on how we're elevating the role from syntax writers to systems architects. #AI is a mirror, not a fountain. #FutureOfWork

The real "magic" isn't just in the DDL—it's using Cortex to synthesize complex, nested GraphQL queries for external APIs based on existing metadata. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘄: 🔹 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝘅 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗣𝗜 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁: Prompting it to write nested GraphQL bodies for grouped objects (like ORDER_*) for an external application. 🔹 𝗔𝗗𝗙 𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁: Executing the Cortex-generated code to move data into Snowflake as raw JSON. 🔹 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆: Using the Cortex assistant to flatten the JSON and re-point legacy view lineage automatically. It’s a complete shift from "Writing Code" to "Orchestrating Intent." A milestone I’m grateful for because behind that number are classrooms, conversations, questions, and students becoming more confident with technology. Most recently, I had the opportunity to conduct a hands-on session at VSIT with first-year students on “Data to Decisions” exploring how data moves from rows and columns to something more valuable: insight. A special mention to the IEEE-VSIT student team, who helped make the workshop happen by coordinating with students, managing the arrangements, and ensuring everything ran smoothly. Since many students were still at the beginning of their Python journey, the focus wasn’t on advanced concepts. It was on the thinking process behind data: Predict → Code → Observe → Interpret → Decide Through a hands-on “Your Batch. Your Data.” approach, students explored relatable data using Python, identified patterns, created visualisations, and learned to explain what those results actually meant. Because data analytics isn’t only about writing code or generating charts. It is about asking better questions, challenging assumptions, looking for evidence, and turning information into decisions. Seeing first-year students code along, test their own questions, and interpret the patterns they discovered was the best part of the session. And somewhere along this journey, another number quietly became significant: 1,000+ students reached through sessions and workshops within the past year. Still feels like the beginning. Thank you to Vidyalankar School of Information Technology, the IEEE-VSIT student team, and everyone involved in making this session possible. Amarnath Datar reacted on thisAmarnath Datar reacted on thisFrom Ideas to Inclusion: Sharmila Divatia at Yi YUVA Future 6.0 22 August 2026 | Navarachana University, Vadodara On 22 August 2026 I had the opportunity to serve as a jury member for the Accessibility Track at Yi YUVA Future 6.0, hosted at Navarachna university , Vadodara. The experience brought together two powerful forces—youth innovation and inclusive thinking—around a challenge that is central to building a more equitable society: accessibility. Future 6.0 is Yi YUVA's flagship youth policy and solutions platform for college students, designed to move participants beyond identifying problems towards developing policy-backed, scalable and actionable solutions. Accessibility is one of its key national-priority tracks, alongside areas such as climate change, health and road safety. As a jury member, I had the privilege of listening to young minds present ideas aimed at making communities, services, technology and everyday experiences more accessible and inclusive. What stood out was the willingness of the participants to look at disability not merely as a challenge requiring assistance, but as an opportunity to redesign systems so that everyone can participate with dignity and independence. The judging process was not simply about selecting the strongest presentation. It was about asking important questions: Is the problem clearly understood? Is the proposed solution genuinely inclusive? Can it be implemented? Is it scalable? Can it create measurable impact? And, most importantly, does it place people with disabilities at the centre of the solution? This is where youth-led innovation becomes particularly meaningful. Young people bring curiosity, technology awareness and the courage to challenge established ways of doing things. When this energy is combined with lived experience, domain expertise and mentorship, ideas can move from a competition platform towards real-world solutions on communicating with the deaf, Jobs and skilling for Persons with Disabilities, Accessibility audits and smart city solutions for public buildings, and so on. For me, the experience was also a reminder that accessibility is everyone's responsibility - as we describe it in our Project LakhiBagh - along with Vardaan4u and ROTARY CLUB Vadodara Heritage. Whether it is a physical space, a digital platform, an educational institution, a workplace or a public service, inclusion must be designed into the system rather than added as an afterthought. Reflecting on this transition, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to my former managers and colleagues at the Metropolitan Roads Program Alliance (MRPA). A special thank you to Mike Daly, Jihad Chahda and Abhishek Lall for the opportunities you provided and for the trust and confidence you placed in me throughout my time with the alliance. Your support, guidance, and collaboration have played a significant role in my professional journey. I would also like to thank Farah Salem and Adam Clark at OCMS for giving me the opportunity to take on this exciting new role. Today, I'm a strength coach, counsellor, Australia’s national powerlifting champion and podcast host. But none of this was planned. After getting married and moving to Australia, life became about settling down and raising my family. Like many women, I put myself at the bottom of the list. Over the years, I became overweight and unhealthy. Until one day, I decided something had to change. I started exercising, lost weight and became stronger. But the biggest change wasn't just physical. As my body became stronger, so did I. My confidence and mindset changed. I also realised how much the people around us and the role models we choose shape what we believe is possible. I wanted to understand why strength training had changed me so much, so I studied and became a fitness and strength coach. Then I wanted to understand food — why we gain weight, where we go wrong and how nutrition affects our health. So I studied nutrition. But coaching people taught me something else. You can give someone a great training and nutrition plan, but sometimes that's not what they need most. Stress, relationships, confidence, grief and family pressures can all sit behind what we see on the outside. I knew how to train the body. I wanted to understand the person too. So I studied counselling. And somewhere along the way, the woman who once struggled with obesity became an Australian National Powerlifting Champion and Australian record holder. For me, it was never just about lifting a heavy weight. It was proof of how far I'd come. Eventually, fitness, nutrition, counselling and my own experiences came together. That's how The Balance Talk Show began. Today, I have the privilege of speaking with globally recognised doctors, professors, health experts and inspiring people from around the world — sharing conversations about health, wellbeing and the human stories behind success. I certainly didn't have any of this mapped out. One question simply led to another. How do I become healthier? How do I become stronger? How do I understand nutrition? How do I understand people better? And finally — how can I turn everything I've learned into conversations that can reach and help people around the world? Looking back, maybe that has been the real journey. Not just changing my body, but continuing to learn, grow and turn my own experiences into something that might help someone else. And I still feel like I'm only getting started.

Ethics & Trust: Governing Parametric AI the Right Way ⚖️ AI-driven parametric insurance offers speed and simplicity — but without strong guardrails, it risks undermining fairness and trust. 🔍 Key Considerations: 1️⃣ Regulatory scrutiny is rising The new “AI for Better Insurance” report by CSIRO & ICA emphasizes that Australia must adopt robust governance frameworks as parametric and other AI models scale. Meanwhile, regulators in Australia (APRA) are increasing their oversight of AI risk, especially concerning third-party providers and op risk. 2️⃣ Transparency must be built in Customers deserve to know why a payout was triggered (or not). Opaque models that rely solely on black boxes will erode trust. As ICA warns, AI adoption must be “carefully and responsibly stewarded” to avoid hidden bias, data misuse, and lack of accountability. 3️⃣ Proxy bias and fairness risks multiply Even when not using sensitive attributes, parametric triggers or feature engineering could reflect proxy variables that disadvantage marginalized groups. Insurers must guard against this with fairness testing, scenario audits, and inclusive design. 4️⃣ Privacy + smart data use = necessity Parametric triggers often rely on satellite, sensor, and third-party data. Ensuring those data sources respect privacy, consent, and data ownership is nonnegotiable. ✨ Parametric insurance powered by AI is a breakthrough—but only when it’s explainable, fair, privacy-aware, and governed.
