About Andre Revilla
Andre is an entrepreneur and author based in Chicago, IL. He's been covering and working in the consumer tech space for over a decade. Along with XDA he has contributed to Digital Trends, Pocket-Lint, and a number of other news and tech sites since 2010. He is also the founder of GoLCDs, a company that services phone repair shops across the country in component buybacks and recycling.
When he's not working he'll talk your ear off about investing, finance, food, or travel.
How long have you been interested in technology?
As long as I can remember. My father is an electrical engineer who made his career in semiconductors, so our household was always on the cutting edge of consumer tech. I have fond memories of taking apart computers during the days of dial-up internet and discussing the future of how many transistors could fit on a single chip. We were the household that discussed Moore's Law over dinner.
What was your first computer?
The first computer I could call my own was a unibody 2011 Macbook Pro. Back when the RAM wasn't soldered to the board and they were easier to upgrade. It lasted me many years after memory upgrades and swapping out the HD for an SSD. Today though I happily work and play on a custom build.
What tech products or categories are you most passionate about?
Consumer tech and devices that enhance peoples daily lives are my primary passion. I've made my career working in and covering this space, but I'm an admirer of anyone that pushes the envelope in the world of consumer driven tech products.
